We just watched G-Force. It was cute. I wanted to watch the new Return to Witch Mountain, but kiddo informed us that his mom said it was too scary.
Sigh. I am down with not making the kiddo watch too-scary stuff, but I am awful tired of mom-that's-not-here being the de facto decision maker.
I don't want to overstate this, but God Bless dunkin donuts.
I have a seat and an iced beverage and there is a/c and the radio just played Empire State of Mind. COME ON! That is like the best rest stop ever. Ok, they could have a restroom, but this is NYC, let's not get crazy.
and Casper said, "You should tke a picture and put it on the internet for the Buffistas, so they can learn how to make one, too."
That's so sweet. I adore Buffista sprog.
Now I want a donut. I have been craving those creme horns for DAYS, but every time I go to the store, they don't have them.
I need to go to the store anyway this afternoon; I will need to check again.
Mmmm. Those would be an excellent base for strawberry shortcake instead of the pound cake.
I'd send you some of our excess heat if I could, Kat.
Tonight is going to involve a BLT with extra thick bacon and local tomatoes. Followed by a chocolate-Kahlua shake.
Awww, Casper. Wish I had some of that cake. I am missing two cookouts right now.
I am at work, with Frankie for company. Trying not to freak out over everything that needs doing, and just focus on one thing at a time. Taking a five minute break right now.
Gah! Figuring out guest list is a total stresstival!
I dearly hope you are all having much too fun to click this link, but just in case you want a glimpse of the ridiculously ginormous task I'm working on, it's to take this website [link] and turn the whole g-d thing into pdf-able documents. Someone else did just the first layer, and it's a 49 page word doc.
I've been snorfling corn chips and cashew clusters all day. With extra added watermelon. Supposed to have dinner at a friend's house. Oops. Chances are good I won't eat much.
I took Bartleby to the neighborhood 4th of July parade this morning. Even strangers commented on how good he was. The parade itself was a quaint as ever.
I left the windows open until I realized I was blowing hot air into the house with a window fan. Now, the hatches are batoned, if that's even a phrase. I put down all the storm windows and screens and turned the Levalors so the blades are pointed up. Plus, closed all the doors between rooms.
It's going to be super, super hot for the next week, so I'm trying to make the house as sealed as possible to make best use of the a/c.
Thank God for a/c, that's all I have to say.
At what temp do people generally keep their a/c? I generally do 78 in the summer.
Lisa, sorry it's so stressful.
I keep mine at 78 until the humidity is bad, then it goes down to 76. Sometimes at bedtime I have to put mac's at 75 until he falls asleep. He has fatigue induced hot flashes.
