Can you make hummus with bacon fat? Maybe I'd like that.
Now you're talking. There has to be a niche market for that. Besides just me.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Bacon, vanilla, bread, and chocolate. Best food smells ever.
I just unearthed my bread machine (seriously, I had no idea where I put it when I moved here. Um, five years ago.) and started a loaf of bread. Because I am feel eh today and baking bread seems like an amazing way to feel better. If I go buy bacon, I am ... you know, I was going to say "blame ita" but "thank ita" seems like the better choice. Mmmm, food.

You should try. I'll bring bread.
I was talking to my boss today and realized that I've lived in DeKalb for almost 20 years.
That's the longest I've lived in any one town EVER. Plus, I've lived in this apartment for 14+ years. Eek.
We just got the monthly anniversaries list here at work, and I realized that I'm only 2 1/2 years away from my 20th anniversary. Wow.
I was actually a little weirded out by my 10th anniversary at my job.
I think my cat thinks my enclosed, upstairs back porch is outside. She meows and meows o go out there, and when I let her out (and close the door because it is freezing) she meows and meows to get in. I keep being scared she is using the porch as a litter box, but it does not smell, and there is pee in the litter box. I wish she had never discovered the porch, though.
Wow, Kathy!
Signed,
Coming up on 23 yrs in the same place and trying not to feel old.

I just had my 10th anniversary at my job, and my society's director apparently informed all the Editors-in-Chief I've ever worked with. Three of them have sent me notes telling me how wonderful I am and how working with me was "the best part" of being EiC. I forwarded them all to my boss and my boss's boss, and you can bet I'll be pointing to them come salary review time. Accolades make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It almost makes this insane job worth it.
Except now they're saving it for special occasions.
Like, Sunday? (I wouldn't was JBM on work coffee. I'd save if for a relaxing morning)

Hmm, I don't know. I wonder how the texture would be because bacon fat is not liquid at room temperature. Perhaps an experiment . . .
I save my Kona coffee for special occasions. I call them, "mornings." I technically own other coffee, but it is foul dreck, fit only for consumption of desperation.
What about goose grease? I bet hummus made with goose grease would be yum.
This is our ninth year at our current jobs. The mind, it boggles. I always previously used to get antsy around five years. Like if I somehow stuck with a job too long, I'd have committed too much of my life and identity with it. This one, that's water under the bridge.
