Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

smonster and I greatly enjoyed mocking the HDBs at the bar we went to when she was here.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Dear god those people were awful. By which I mean massively rude, inconsiderate of personal space, and the worst collection of dancers I have ever seen in one place at one time. That's not even counting the soit-dit fashion choices.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I think the universe is punishing me for deciding to skip the gym because I didn't feel good and I'd had A Day. The stank on the red line was so bad that I now have a migraine. To boot, or not to boot: that is the question.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Dana, I'm just sensitive b/c I was dating a female soldier around that time and heard a lot of horror stories about people lurking in gay bars and such to find out homosexuals. I personally feel like people are not being patient enough with Obama, given that it's only been a year. I understand that for gays in the military it feels very urgent.

My understanding is that expulsions have actually risen under DADT though. If it's a less toxic environment that's something. But not enough. (I'll have to see if I can dig up where I've seen that though.)

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

My understanding is that expulsions have actually risen under DADT though

That's the impression I have gotten as well. It didn't work.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just got to touch a plane engine (Cessna 150 series). I feel like squeeing like a 14 year old meeting musicians from a local band. It's so nifty! And I got to touch it! I'd say I'll never wash that hand again, but there was a gasket leak, so nsm. I'm not sure the simile tracks that far.

The engine reminds me of the engine in my first car--a 1976 VW Dasher.

Excellent, Calli!

Sometimes I can't tell if it is Loki bolting bunny-style up and down my stairs or the little girl next door running up and down hers in hard shoes. I think that says something about how noisy he is. (I really can't hear much from next door, usually. )

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Lycoming or Continental?

Either way, air-cooled, flat four -- not much different than what was in the original VW Bug.

Now I'm reminded of Bill Cosby's routine about Fat Albert's car, with the "Cessna airplane engine."

eta: Wikipedia tells me that the 150s have Continentals, it's the 152s that have Lycomings.
