The tax stuff sounds crazy, but we're not allowed to have any catering unless there's at least one person attending from outside gov't.
Yeah, I was going to say government money can't be used for food at internal meetings, but not because it's a benefit.
If two employers stated the same tax thing about the same time could be a new tax decision.
Did you know that if you get FF miles from employer-paid travel it used to be a taxable benefit? But no one ever paid taxes on it, so the IRS made a special ruling making it non-taxable.
Can I go home yet?
Yes. Aren't you constantly trying to stay under 40 hrs anyway?
What didn't you like about Minnie Driver's character?
If two employers stated the same tax thing about the same time could be a new tax decision.
Yeah, but it's still crazy!
Maybe my boss was getting a "meal" and we at our meeting it was a "snack" (we had half bagels and fruit and coffee).
Grrr. Jackholes at work are complaining about why we're so late delivering the thing they've been constantly changing their specifications for.
I think it's totally crazy, even though I've experienced it. The meal/snack differentiation was insane to me. And our handwaving the meals used to make me roll my eyes.
I do think, though, it was more likely to be an issue around contract stuff (educational institution that received money from government grants to fund parts of our program).
Whatever. Still insane.
Quiet day for the next 3 days --> AP is taking their semester final. Today it's too essays. Tomorrow it's 45 multiple choice and one essay. Friday it's 105 multiple choice. Yay?
