Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He caved and went in to school? How long did it take him to change his mind?

How frustrating. I'm glad you could stay calmer.

I need new shoes. I have three pairs of shoes I can wear with skirts that are perfectly comfortable, and they're all falling apart/scraped past the skin. Oy.

a total of 2 hours. He watched a show on the computer (while I was sitting in front of the door) and then we were doing a puzzle together (once he was calm and I knew he wouldn't run). I was ready to take the full day from work.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

God, we can't even trust wildlife photographers anymore....

Wildlife photographer cheats with tame wolf

This photo won the London Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award for 2009.

Then, several Spanish photographers recognized that wolf, and revealed the ostensibly chance image to be a setup.

Wildlife photographer of the year stripped of his award

So now, no one gets the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award for 2009....

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, msbelle. Sounds like a relatively successful defusing/resolution, though?

oh sure, and I got 150 pages in a book read and a few more pieces of the puzzle together. I'll eat lunch at my desk today and will only be 30 minutes down on my work time for the week. I can make that up tomorrow.

Today I will talk with the head of his afterschool program and hopefully put an end to them allowing the use of electronic games there. If they won't stop it, then we may be looking for a new afterschool.

I hope I haven't sabotaged my birthday weekend with what I just arranged.

Note went around asking for volunteers for weird shifts the week of my birthday. I already have the Friday and the weekend off. There was the option of doing an overnight on the Wednesday night, and that gives me Thursday off as well. I don't bounce back on sleep weirdness as well as I used to, so I'm hoping being able to sleep in on both Thursday and Friday, as well as the nap on Wednesday will be sufficient to avoid wretchedness for the rest of the weekend.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I currently put jeans on a shelf, as I have insufficient drawer space

This.

insist that our teachers are paid too much.

Well, you know I only work 8 months of the year, and really, my job is just babysitting. And I never ever do any work on the weekends, on vacation days, or over the summer. Ever.

information libertarian

My daughter's teacher is at school when the kids are allowed to arrive, at 7:15, and we generally run into her when we pick Casper up from afterschool, at 5:15. That's a 10 hour day, even if she weren't taking work home, which I am sure she is. And she teaches first grade.

ETA: She makes $43,700. (Thank you opengeorgia.gov. She has 6 years experience and a master's and was teacher of the year last year.) Her parapro, who is awesome, makes $16K.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Locked my keys in my car this morning, along with my computer. Fucking Tuesday.
