This is so frustrating - talk about being counterproductive, giving ammunition to your opponents, etc.

My impression, which I admit is purely subjective, is that climate change is losing momentum as an issue. I really don't see any serious action being taken on it in the foreseeable future.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think you're right.

Also, we are doomed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse, try a post-it note on the back of your external door that says "DISHWASHER!"

That is an excellent plan!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

we are doomed.

Isn't peak oil supposed to get us first?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

My impression is that short of a short of a major technological breakthrough, in solar, algae cultivation, or supercaps, we're totally fucked.

Aliens! Aliens will come and save us!

(I should note that I've stopped watching V, so there might be a downside I don't know about.)

In this case I think the market will work. As easily accessible oil peaks, the price will rise enough to make more expensive oil extraction techniques (like getting it from oil shale) cost-effective. With the cost of oil increased, then alternative technologies can take over, like electric cars that get their power from coal-fired power plants. We got lots of coal.
