Fair warning, gruesome warning, even old iron-stomach-me got weepy at this, but a pediatrician who has just re-landed in Haiti's blog: [link] Goddamn. So many parts to this. The volunteers on the ground, doing their bit, frustrated at the macro. The macro slowly (as expected) coming to shape. Baby born en route to the USS Vinson. That's micro. I just watch. And watch.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Ugh. Googling for info on Leo Frank is getting a bunch of links to JewWatch and similar sites.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh. I've had a day. I just want to relax a bit.

Cash, I'm sorry about that, but it happens. Franny cut her own hair a couple times, I think I posted about that. And her best friend at school tried to cut her own hair and cut her bangs down to about 1/2 inch.

I'm sorry the parents are so upset about it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hey, what do you know, it's Elephant Appreciation Day on TeeFury.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I did more cooking today than I've done on a weekday in forever. As a result I had dinner later than I should have, medication-wise. Ah, well. It will take some adjusting to.

Took the laptop back to the shop, and of course it powered up perfectly for them. ::sigh:: Went to the pharmacy and could pick up everything other than my painkillers, because my doctor never called in the refill. ::sigh:: Evening of frustrating errands. But at least the laptop powered on when I got it home.

Head still hurts though.

I hope you get some you time, Burrell.

Thanks ita. It's quiet now that the kids are asleep.

That zennioptical site is quite tempting. Cheap glasses. Whee!

My last optical insurance got me free glasses. And I keep forgetting to wear them. I should check and see if I still have optical. My last two frames were pretty cute.

Wahh. I'm tired but not sleepy. I am full of whine.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm tired but not sleepy.

That is the worst.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Truly.
