"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You. Must. Chill!

Or, run around the office making geebily noises and waving your arms like a muppet.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

The "have always" sentence construction of the Beloit lists has always irritated me. Like, I get what they're trying to do, but not all college freshman are actually that ignorant and self-centered!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Chill msbelle. For now. But having it burble under the surface is completely understandable.

Jessica - I'm with you. I get what they are trying to present, but I have a child born in 1990, just a year off of their list, and she knows a bunch of that isn't true. Or "hasn't always been".

I'm at work today. Nose is still snotty and throat hurts to talk, though I can whisper. It is gonna be a loooooooooong day.

Trust my rage

Okay, what an awesome buffista day!

I am so thrilled to hear that Grace is home and the twins are back under the same roof. I'm sure the change in routine will be a major adjustment for all of you, but still, awesome!

And how cool, msbelle, about the better offer! I have no stomach for that stuff when unless the limit given really is my limit. But I can't fake it. So yay, realtor!

And lastly, Happy Birthday, Kalliope!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Should We Make Somali Pirates Walk the Gangplank?

Remember not too long ago when a Russian naval vessel rescued the crew of a ship that had been taken over by pirates? And then the Russians decided to let the pirates go rather than prosecute them? Here's something I didn't know:

Theoretically, the captain was supposed to hand the detainees and the evidence over to regional police. Not wanting to involve himself in legal wrangling, however, he decided to "release" the pirates instead. And thus they were "set free" in a tiny inflatable raft, with no navigation equipment, 350 miles off the coast of Yemen. The raft has since disappeared. In the 21st century, this is how pirates walk the plank.

Damn.
