"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

In the French Quarter?

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah. Although I think I found what I wanted-- the Monteleone.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

That's what I was about to suggest.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Here is your image for the evening: my dad works in the meat department of a grocery store, mostly keeping the shelves stocked and whatnot. He hurt his back at work yesterday because he had been hauling frozen chickens about, and as he was stacking them (or moving them, or something), he happened to be standing in a PUDDLE OF CHICKEN BLOOD, and his foot slid out from under him. He didn't hit the floor, but he wrenched his back fairly well, what with the flailing about.

I told him that as long as he left out the part about him being at work when it happened, he had one hell of a story for how he hurt his back: "Yeah, I was tossing chickens, and slipped in a pool of chicken blood...."

His back is sore today, but seems to be on the mend. I'm just so amused by the image of my dad tossing frozen chickens while standing in a puddle of chicken blood, I can't even tell you. It's like something from a freakshow.

Now tagless for your comfort.

lisah, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's a tough thing to have to do.

My mother is in the hospital. After spending 7 hours in the ER, she finally was admitted with a severe UTI and some sort of flu virus. Her sugar was up over 500 this morning but they seem to be getting that under control. Dad is finally home and getting some rest, too.

information libertarian

I'm sorry about your doggie (Fred? am I hallucinating that name?) He was a good old dog.

Stupid airline sent me home on the shuttle. Apparently they get lazy and cancel their flights "because of weather" (which is what they told mr. flea - clear skies) or "because of a mechanical failure" (what they told me) and just pay for the shuttle (which costs twice as much.)

Stupid husband heard "pick me up at the Holiday Inn" and went to the Holiday Inn Express so after 10 minutes I deduced this was the problem, went into the Holiday Inn, and called the Holiday Inn Express to ask their lobby guy is there was a tall dude with two kids hanging around waiting for somebody.

As soon as I walked out of the airport my phone started working again. Weird.

Yikes, Cash.

I'm stressy and gaslighty and I just need to chill. And my butt muscles are sore from the 8 miles this weekend, I think.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, Cashmere -- I hope they fix her up quickly.

And I'm glad you made it home, flea!

That's crappy of them, flea.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Is that a country song, Jesse? I think I am unable to distinguish lite pop and lite country.

Cash, vibing for your mom.

Flea, that just sucks. But it sounds like you made it OK?
