Trust my rage

I am seriously pondering a cleaning person at our new house when we move in July 1. I want someone to vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, and wash/change the sheets and towels. I don't know if it will happen, though.

We have a scrub once a month. It makes maintenance inbetween visits much simpler.

Dusting. Someone to dust. And declutter. Sadly, not in the budget right now.

This. When we lived on the boat, I had a cleaning lady 2x a month. She did the things that I hated to do like dust and oil all.the.damn.teak (beautiful to look at but a PITA to maintain). We were better at keeping things picked up during the inbetween weeks, and it usually only took a few minutes to pick up on Sunday evening when we knew that she would be in on Monday. Man, I so miss that... sort of ironic that I'd have a cleaning lady for a 50 ft boat but not one for a 3,000 sq ft house (but that's more a function of it being my MiL's house and her Alzheimers).

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Here's a photo comparison to show how much of my hair is going to clean up oil in the Gulf: [link] (It's wet in both pictures, not manky.)

I can't even begin to say how happy the cut makes me. It was driving me BATSHIT having all that hair on my shoulders and upper back. I keep shaking my head to check that I still don't have it. I actually think I want it a leeeeetle shorter, but -- next time.

The cleaning lady did a really great job. She didn't do our bedroom (which is for the best), but she did the floors, dusting, degrunging. And she tried to do declutter but that's impossible.

I would like a cleaning person to scrub the floors and walls and door frames and other assorted trim. And cleaning services will come in and do a one-time "deep clean," so it's not like we can't have it done. But I'm also on the need-to-declutter-first bandwagon.

I would like someone to come and bushwhack the yard, and clear out the pile of crap in the back. Also, clean the basement and garage.

Hmm. Basically, all I want is for the ex's stuff to be all gone, then.

Ah, true enough. And when I've had it short, eventually I yearn to grow it out. I'm not sure why I started getting buggy about feeling it on my shoulders and back, but the actual physical feel of it was starting to make me, like, *angry.* (Yeah, at my hair. I am not a normal kitty at all.)

Mostly, I have to own up to the fact where I'm too lazy to really maintain long-ish hair such that it looks professional at work (or at least not like some damn hippie who just rolled off the Dead tour). Shorter makes me look more like I have my shit together.
