Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

People insist on talking to me this morning. What's that about?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My one boss is out of town and the other is out of the office at the moment. So the only person I've talked to today is a McDonald's employee.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Why can't people mind their own fucking business? I do not need to be getting emails from San Francisco asking why one of my direct reports is late this morning. The fuck? Because she contacted me, I approved, and it has nothing to do with you. (Or, more to the point, with the person here in Chicago who was clearly complaining about it.) Grow the fuck up.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

This morning I poured a much needed second cup of coffee into a travel mug, added milk, made sure the lid was on tightly, and then left it on the counter.

If it's any consolation, I spilled coffee all over the papers on my coffee table this morning.

Question: Is it creole cuisine that is more refined, and cajun cooking the country style, or vice versa?

I think of Creole as more refined.

I think of Creole as more refined.

That's what I thought, but then I came across this editing the cultural notes for a video on New Orleans:

While creole cuisine is more rustic and provincial, cajun cuisine is more refined, in the tradition of classic French cuisine.

and thought I should check before switching the two terms.

To me, Cajun immediately conjures associations of people in rural Louisiana.
