Oh, and I have pretty purple flowers blooming-- need to get the gardening book out and figure out what it is:

Barb, those are irises. Some of my fave.
Good job Barb! And great pup, Jasmine.
I'm offering my 3rd annual, walk workshop next weekend and am looking forward to helping people put the kabosh on pulling! It's a joy to see the relief on their faces when they finally get it and can start looking forward to the walk.
This morning's doggy lama appointment was with a wee French Bulldog puppy who absolutely captured my heart. And seeing the looks of astonishment when I taught him to sit and lie down in less than 5 minutes? Priceless! I LOVElovelove helping to eliminate confusion and to create systems that really work for folks.
One of our dog park friends had a birthday party this afternoon (I know, I know.) Her person made meat cupcakes with mashed potato icing and a red pepper 'cherry' on top. V. cute and Bartleby snarfed his without a single chew.
Oh, FNL. Still of the heart.
I think I might need to shut the house down soon. It's getting chilly.
mac pitched a fit that I DARED to tell him to pick up toys and that he could only play DS if he did homework AND that he had a bedtime. A FIT. did not pick up one damned toy. BUT, also did not pick up the DS and did pause the tv when I said no more. So like halfway to compliant? getting him over this thing about not helping to clean AT ALL is so very toddler-ville. do not want.
Mountains!
Hee! Yeah, it's been gorgeous here, today. The mountains are so crisp and clear, it's like you can reach out and touch them.
And irises! I KNEW they looked familiar, but I've only ever seen them in photographs/paintings. Never in real life. And now they're in my YARD!
Truly, this is a wondrous, magical place.

I think you'll get a giggle out of the bichon with 'tude we encountered and Jasmine's reaction.
Totally. It's the wee ones you have to look out for, I always say.
Which is why I was so proud of the Frenchie's people this morning. They got past the 'he's so cute, he can get away with anything' phase AND, they called me before the problems got a foothold. Bless them for doing right by their little guy.
As for smart vs. not so smart dogs...The not smart ones are SO much better to deal with, I tell you what. The ones who get bored because they are so smart, or who problem solve themselves right into anxiety and illness just make me sad.
Every time someone says they want a smart dog, I shake my head sadly. DON'T do it! Revel in the ease of the dumber dog! Since Bowser is unlikely to go to university, you really don't need super smart!
Barb, do you have an extra bedroom? I may need to visit and actually certify that your view is not photoshopped.
sara, I just closed everything up here. Had a few unexpected door slams because of the wind tunnel in the house. It did make for hilarious cat antics, as Lucky and Reggie both flew down the steps and hit the couch full-bore as they slid across the tile while trying to corner. It must have been bad at your place if Loki didn't want to go outside.
Kat, that's a cute idea.
