No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Only the LAistas can truly appreciate the hell my life is about to become. My commute already sucks (Pasadena to Brentwood), but they close the Sunset Bridge and the 405S between Getty Center and Sunset on Monday...for the next 20 months. No question, I'm going to have to leave the house at 6am in order to make it to school (which is on Sunset) on time. I kind of want to cry right now. Not just saying that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Dayum, that was a good orange.

They had them out at Andronico's advertising them as "the sweetest oranges you'll ever taste" by some local grower, T.J. (I think that's it) Wilson (definitely Wilson).

Anyway: truth in advertising.

Sorry, Pix. Time to invest in more audiobooks?

I'm going to have no life outside of school and driving anymore. It already takes me an hour each way, but now I will have to get up around 5, and in the afternoon...well yeah. The trip home may take me upwards of 2-3 hours, and I'll have to go to bed a couple of hours after I get home. I may have to resign to seek a new job even if I don't get the one I applied to. That's a scary prospect, but I honestly don't know if I have a choice.

I wouldn't do that in this economy.

Spending 5 plus hours a day in my car is not an option for me. I've dealt with 2-3 hours for five years, and I know my limits.

“Not dead yet!”

It is a scary prospect, Pix, but beyond the time constraints, how much are you spending on gas, not to mention the wear and tear on your car? I can't say I blame you for considering resignation as a viable possibility, regardless of the fear factor.

I wish I had a suggestion for you, but I have lots of good thoughts.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I just found two of mac's toys that had been "lost" for months. Also found my missing Netflix movie. YAY. Of course, I had packed them away, so it's my own fault. still missing one Batman toy and a library card.

Off to the PO with an ebay box. STUFF OUT!

Our wings are not tired.

Msbelle, so wonderful to hear about Mac's progress!!!

Pix, you're right. That commute is untenable. I really hope you won't have to endure it.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

That's horrible Pix.

If you are really considering options, and that's an accurate estimate, I would suggest doing a quick calculation to see how much this effectively reduces your hourly wage. For example, if I had to add 10 hours weekly to my commute, it would mean my pay was being reduced by (roughly) 20%.
