Volvo accidentally smashes new S60 car

Oh dear. Where's Keyboard Cat when you need him? At a demonstration of Volvo's new collision warning system in Sweden this week, Wired got first-hand experience of what happens when it goes badly wrong. The new Volvo S60, due for release later this year, was fired out of Volvo's testing tunnel at around 30MPH, and the collision detection system should have kicked in, bringing the car automatically to a halt before hitting the truck in its path. I managed to get through the first week of my no sweets or booze or soda vow without breaking it, and I do feel better, and I am sleeping better, but I would cheerfully mug Smonster for her bourbon and ginger right now, and anyone else for any chocolate they might have.

It's snowing. Fucking snow in May!

We were supposed to drive to Indiana tonight but DH got hung up at work and pushed it off until tomorrow morning. He just asked me if we were all packed to go. Did he do the packing? No.

Someone remind me he's off limits for killing.

FM tomorrow for my usual stash, need to do some more yardwork, shoe shopping maybe, maybe hit another bra store. Gotta clean and do some laundry, and figure out what I want to put out for the block yard sale in a couple weeks. Couple of vacuums, some clothes, some books, cull my french presses down to 1 (I only use the one maybe once a year, and somehow I've been given 2 more.) I'll probably put out my old Nat'l Geographics in case any teachers need magazines to cut up.

I'd love to tackle my porch light, but we'll see. It involves taking it down, going to a hardware store to find out how to get a recessed socket for it, strip or rustoleum the metal and repaint, visit a glazier to replace the glass. I might just manage to take it down and clean it...

At least until after we do Vegas, Cashmere.

For some reason (maybe because it was in food talk?) I read this as Polish and figured it was a box of sausage and was a little confused at why so exciting, since you clearly ate something else.
