Because books.

For me that click is very often when you feel like you've known someone forever, even though you just met -- when you feel like you're exactly on the same page in terms of humor and interests and thinking. It's happened a lot to me with friendships.

Trust my rage

Happy Birthday, Giamcookie!

Makes him even hotter doesn't it? Like he does NOT have a face made for radio.

I know! It was fun to see them all. He was both hot and well dressed! I always love seeing the names of my NPR peeps. I have to say them out loud to recognize them.

I sort of clicked with this dude I met yesterday downtown. Probably wouldn't want to date him, even if I were available, but he was cute and charming.

Speaking of charming , i would have to go with Neal/Peter/Elizabeth. July 13, hurry up!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

And yet, whatever the neighbors are cooking (something cheesy) smells so good, I can't take it. I'm full of gumbo! And pie!

Ooh, were you at Tupelo?

Also, Season 2 of Leverage is also on Netflix streaming!

OK, gotta board a plane now.

But yeah. I'm massively awkward upon first (and second, and third) meetings. A lot of the time I feel like I'm imitating proper human behavior rather than actually doing what I'm doing because it feels right to me.

Oh, I know how you feel. It takes me a long time to be myself around people.

Safe travels, Nora!

Ari Shapiro is wicked smart, from a wicked smart family. I'd love to be at a cocktail party with him, Dalhia Lithwick and Gail Collins.

Happy birthday GC!

When I have had the click, it's kind of blown my mind, because I'm used to getting to know people slowly.

I have to say, most of my longest lasting relationships have happened with people who I didn't really like on first impression, or who didn't really like me. I think I have anti-chemistry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, were you at Tupelo?

Of course I was, Nora! Have a safe flight, and successful trip!!!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ari Shapiro isn't only cute & smart, he actually guest-sang on the most recent Pink Martini record. Being as he has been friends with the band principals since college.

So far I'm doing a good job at not freaking out too much about today... I'm going for an all-day "tryout" faux-project at a website company.
