I just got a new laptop, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize files before moving the whole sloppy mess over to the new one. Cleaning house on an old laptop is weird.
I keep finding things and saying, "oh yeah! I wrote that crappy thing. Why did I save that? Why do I have so many pictures of ladybugs? Why do I have 15 copies of my 2008 tax returns?"
Also, I got the new MS Suite, that has three different programs I have no interest in loading onto my computer. Seems like a buncha garbage.
I'm glad you and B-boy are okay, Bonny. Best recovery luck to your friend-neighbor.
JZ, sending all the strength and coping vibes I can summon to you.
Has anyone heard from ita?
"Germans?"
"Forget it, he's rolling."
Kathy totally beat me to it.
Much ~ma for JZ.
Need hivemind help--
Sentence from MS:
Not completely following, I leaned forward and focused on the screen, watching myself, a shimmer white dot amidst swirling color and movement.
Copy editor changed amidst to amid. Any reason I shouldn't just stet it?
Never mind-- I think I just answered my own question. It's the first entry in Merriam-Webster.
OMG OMG. I was just offered a job. At slightly less than I was making before to start, to go up to what I was making before in 4-6 months. It's really a minor difference. Of course, I was hoping to get a bump up, but Boston v. NYC, blah blah blah. I can't figure out how much of an issue I should make of the salary thing. Ask that the goal amount be higher?
Eeeee!!! But now I need to figure out how to negotiate! Yikes.
WOOHOO JESSE!!!!! Good luck w/ figuring out the negotiations. I think asking that the goal amount be higher seems reasonable.
