I think what my daughter's trying to say is: nyah nyah nyah nyah.

brillig

Sunday morning, work. My co-sufferer today is currently practicing his guitar. It could be worse.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sara, I think you need a little old lady bra fitter, and it looks like this might be the place. Is it weird that I'm googling bra stores for someone else?

I can't believe that we are seriously supposed to be boiling water until further notice. Probably a few days.

Today is my little cousin's 2nd bday party! And I confirmed with my mother that she's really not bringing a gift, as requested, so neither am I. Good times.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yeah, there was a big break in the main water underground aqueduct after the processing point, so they're pumping lake water into the water supply for Boston and most of the suburbs around it, so it's boil-and-filter if you take it internally.

Nothing compared to what's happening on the Gulf of Mexico, though. Now THAT's a real disaster.

Oh yeah, this is just odd.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Suzi, it might be worth buying one of those dryer cleaner kits and having a go. Much cheaper than replacing them, and if it's taking that long you could be risking fire.

Need to get dressed and take Frankie for a quick walk.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm so glad my bra issues are less stressful now!

I opened a Twitter account for Owen and I'm a little surprised by how quickly he took to tweeting. I'm watching over him pretty carefully but he's engaging with a lot of people. And doing great.

I've already boiled water for the cats. I need more containers that can hold boiled water, we can use the Brita filter to run the boiled water through for taste.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

His tweet to Polgara was priceless.

A friend of the family was tweeting about Firefly not being all that great but Owen responded with "my mom and dad watchdid it its smart and funny."

I laughed my ass off.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I hate buying bras. They never fit me. The cup is never big enough. I've gone up to a 44G and the cups still don't entirely contain the boobage, which - really now. They cannot be THAT big. And I hate an underwire like the devil. They are uncomfortable, they poke and dig, and they're even harder to find a cup that fits. My problem with measuring myself is (a) keeping the tape straight, and (b) "measure over the bust while wearing a bra that fits you well" Mo'fo', if I had a bra that fit me well, I wouldn't be having a problem! Also, it seems nearly impossible to find a bra in stores that's over a 42DDD. Having to order a bra, try it on, and return it is almost as bad as having to stand in a dressing room for an hour, trying on a million bras, only to end up still without a good bra, and near tears from feeling fat and misshapen. Fuck that. When I was thin, I was a 36B, and buying bras was no problem, so this just brings more "I'm fat and I hate myself" issues. I did go and have a bra fitting done once, at a Lane Bryant. The stupid salesgirl insisted on putting me in a bra that I could barely clasp, and got all indignant when I complained that it hurt, because "that's what my measurements said!" So, humiliating times three. I'm not doing that again. I don't want anyone to see me even half-naked, frankly, and having someone shoving bits around and frowning does not help my already-battered self-esteem. I'd rather just wear sports bras all the time.

I'm kinda really freaking askeered of surgery. Frankly, as long as it is a cosmetic, not physical issue, no way I'm going under any knife.

This is me. After having a DVT and PE following "minor" surgery, the thought of any surgery that isn't required to save my life takes my breath away, and not in the fun way.

In related news, god, my back hurts. The muscles over my shoulders and shoulder blades are so stiff I can barely move, or stand to stand up. All I can think is that maybe those few push-ups were even harder than I thought they were!

I need a new refrigerator, washer, and dryer. Crap. The biggest obstacle to my going on and getting them is the hassle of getting them in and out of the house. The kitchen is a narrow galley kitchen, and the W/D are upstairs, the stairs having a 180 turn. Much fun getting un-disassemble-able antique furniture upstairs, too.

it might be worth buying one of those dryer cleaner kits and having a go. Much cheaper than replacing them, and if it's taking that long you could be risking fire.

eek. Off to clean the dryer filter.
