Because books.

It's actually hot here today. I may take the laptop outside and sit in the sun for a while. Vitamin D is good for burning out the sick, right?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Still doing laundry, including my sheets. Cleaned the sink and toilet, pulled some spoiled stuff from the fridge to go in the compost. Now eating spinach mushroom soup with pita chips and watching Modern Family.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Good times. I wish I had a porch or similar, because I don't necessarily feel like being Out, but I'd love to be outside.

Me too. My building has a roof deck, so I might go sit there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would be all over a roof deck!

Vitamin D is good for burning out the sick, right?

Right.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'll tell you what, pinning up socks and underwear for two adults and two children in a 15 mph wind on a 30 degree day is an experience I'm glad never to have to repeat again. But I do miss sheets, pillowcases and towels dried on a line outdoors.

I have a tea to attend this afternoon. I forgot to pack my widebrimmed straw hats--the ones with the trailing ribbons?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It's not sunny here today. We're going up to Iowa this afternoon, so I need to fold clothes, wash sheets and make the bed, and grade some papers.

Oh, and download a movie or shows from iTunes to watch on the road.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

It's quite warm here today. Nice breeze, though.

Naked mole rats have two genes that act to inhibit cell growth. Humans only have one. The result: naked mole rats never get cancer.

Is there a drawback to having two of those genes? Any reason we shouldn't experiment on giving humans another one?

Oh, did I say "human" and "experiment" in the same sentence? Sorry. Well, I never actually did promise to use my powers only for good.

I have been trying to get a certain store to stop reporting my mother's credit card on my credit report for 10 years now.

Argh. I've been trying for nigh-on 15 years to get (a) a complete stranger's name off my credit report, and (b) to get a tax lien removed that was paid off in 1997 and still shows up "live". One company will take them off, and another drags its feet, and next time I look, it's back on all, apparently re-seeded from the one that didn't do anything about it. Is there an organization that goes to battle with credit reporting companies for the hapless consumer?

edit for to spell good

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, I need to get new credit reports. It's been forever, and given how much identity fraud I've had, I need to keep an eye on.

Now I'm thinking about putting my new air conditioner in the window. I don't really have anywhere to store it, and haven't had that window open at all, so I'm kind of thinking why not.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I am impressed by all of you people who have been up and doing stuff. It is not yet noon here; I have been out of bed for under an hour. Of course, my plans for the day involve attacking the Storage Room o' Doom, so I am eventually going to be productive.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was up at 6:30 hacking my lungs out from the massively inappropriate amounts of pollen in the air. I love that it's warm enough to sleep with the windows open, I do NOT love that sleeping with the windows open means that the gentle spring breezes wafting in contain 2 parts pollen to every 1 part air.

So D and I had an early breakfast and then the whole family went to Tribeca for brunch (Kitchenette = noms) and the Tribeca Family Festival which is kind of associated with the Tribeca Film Festival but is basically just a massive street fair. The highlight from Dylan's point of view was the bubble garden (sponsored by the Gazillion Bubbles Show). Now we are attempting naptime.
