“Not dead yet!”

To counteract the Crazy, a really cool story about Anne Frank's tree and the efforts to preserve pieces of it.

Always Anti-fascist!

OMG. Although I'm so faux-ghetto, cause reading about that bill made me think "Somebody should have told their mamas that, too." Just by living here, I'm keeping the state's IQ in normal range. Although that fills me with less pride and more the desire to file the first ever domestic asylum request. Sigh.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Erika, I hope people understand that there are plenty of good intelligent folks in Arizona. It just happens they are not in charge. But for the next little bit Arizona should expect a lot of mocking. You can't expect people to ignore the big target it painted on itself.

Jon Stewart said it well. I'll paraphrase. "The states are the laboratories of democracy. Who knew Arizona was the meth lab of democracy."

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Now we know what Anya's been up to lately:

Teacher with rabbit phobia to sue 14-year-old for drawing bunny

The teacher, from Vechta, Germany, says she was traumatised by the drawing, and claims the girl knew it would terrify her.

She had transferred to the school where a pupil from her former school had just become a pupil and told her new friends about the teacher's fear of rabbits.

"We did it for fun and out of curiosity", one of the girls told a court, adding, "We wanted to see if she would really freak out."

School officials removed her from the class and now the teacher is seeking compensation for her terror and her loss of earnings, her lawyer Manfred Bormann told the court.

The case continues.

For the good of democracy, by all means mock it. It's incredibly stupid. I mean, all the problems they are ignoring while they make crank calls and braid each others hair are far less funny, but that doesn't mean that whoever wrote that should get out of it without several insulting nicknames. And has every wingnut rented The Island of Dr. Moreau recently? Cause it seems like that went through some southern state a few months back with Rachel and Kent, especially, finding lots of humor in it. But I guess my old feeling that I don't belong here wasn't just me being Emo Gimp. What's next, a resolution calling Olbermann a poopyhead? They'll want something to do on Monday, when they're fresh.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Roll Call newspaper reported that at 11. p.m on Tuesday Kennedy was seen entering the bar , the Capitol Lounge and taking a seat at the counter.

Whoa, that's bad. Capitol Lounge is not a swank martini bar or a nice club, it's the kind of bar that has beat the clock specials with Bud Light. I spent way too much of my 20s there.

This is particularly harsh ending to an article.

Let us hope it does not end up in the gutter like so many fine political careers before.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I gotta say, on behalf of Arizona, I'm really sorry. I miss being in New Mexico with my favorite legislator evah.

brenda, I wave in your general direction! I love Sedona, wish I could have swung by to see you there!

Sparky, ooh, ooh, I know this one! ETSU actually has a great music program. My husband (well, boyfriend at the time) studied trumpet there. We didn't actually go to school there, but at the tiny neighboring Christian college, Milligan. Which had a good vocal program but jack all for instruments, which is why he went over to ETSU.

Anyway! It has been years and years and years since I've been there, but I still have some friends over there I can ping for contacts if you want. As far as gift card stuff goes, there's a mall pretty near there. Used to be the Miracle Mall I think, but looks like now it's called the Mall at Johnson City. Which is original I guess. Ooh, and the world's best sweet tea is at Poor Richards.

Don't you love Buffistas? We know somebody everywhere.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

What's next, a resolution calling Olbermann a poopyhead? They'll want something to do on Monday, when they're fresh.

No, they'll probably just write a law to ban him airing anywhere in the state.
