The restaurant Dan and I went on for our first date serves gorgeous sushi; every plate has a beautiful presentation, with a wee orchid blossom.
I read that, and (along with the
oooh, pretty!)
got a thrill of,
Erin's first date with her HUSBAND!
I love being happy for my friends.
Suzi, sounds like you found a good dentist
Thanks, Sara. CJ has an appt with him tomorrow for a cleaning/check up. Someone I know recommended this office and gave me his card, but for the life of me, I can't remember who it was. I ran a couple of names past the dentist, but no match so far.
Garv and I made out in Port Authority on our first date. It doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?

But it's so quintessentially New York though and as such, has its own charm.
Amy, that's a New York story!
Barb, do you get rhubarb in your new digs? I ask because I found rhubarb at my LA farmer's market and I was all, "OHIO!"
We were teenagers! Drunk ones! At one a.m.!
It sounds much better now, I think. Um.
I do, Kat. At least, I've seen it at the Yakima Fruit Market.
Y'know, I've never actually made anything with rhubarb? I should try a strawberry/rhubarb pie I think. The strawberries have been absolutely spectacular around here.
I found a reference to "Namaste, Motherfucker" from 2003, and it made it sound like it'd already been around for a long time. Anyway, not that important.
And sometimes we see an Indian dude walking out of a bank and say "Namaste," probably to make him feel nice, but instead we totally make him feel weird and Other-tastic. There is no winning!
Personally I would avoid doing so because I've seen a few too many pretentious New Age types using it as a greeting before they start rambling about auras. From a person of Indian or Nepalese origin: a gentle and respectful greeting; from a lifestyle coach or smoothie barrista: a sure sign that I should leave before my eyes get stuck rolled back toward the interior of my skull.
