A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

OMG, want this dress in melon, and it's 30% off through lucky's website. EDIT: Oooh, it would be $55 with the discount. Oh, dear. Must sleep on it.

I would wear it all summer long. Hmm.

Shari, I do agree that there are safety concerns with borders, and, with any controversial/hot button topics, there is a tendency to to focus on the hot button topics and point fingers -- I know I do it, much to my chagrin.

However, as much as I do think the focus should be on the inherent flaws in this law, and what solutions we could come up with (should people as a whole focus creative and critical thinking upon it) I DO think that there is a large contingent of people who are het up about this issue because of underlying (in some cases) and overt (in some cases) racism and xenophobia, justified by writing or speaking of national security concerns and terorist threats.

I do not think all people who are supportive of this measure are racists, and I do not think all of the concerns about illegal immigration and crime and national safety are invalid --not at all. However, I cannot say that I do not believe that racism and xenophobia has not played a significant role in this measure being signed in.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

We've already talked about having the Muppet Show theme played at our wedding.

Hee! That is awesome. We've been considering the Fraggle Rock theme song!

Keep breathing!

Erin, I don't discount racism as a motivator for some people, but how significant a role?...

I'd like to see a national debate and a national solution focused on what's good for our country. But since this is such a complex and emotional issue (sigh) like abortion or Middle East peace (sigh), I'm not optimistic.

Now tagless for your comfort.

That acapella group video made my freakin' day.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am *so* grumpy today. And today I need to be cheery.

Some of it is my fault, some of it is the injustice of the universe.

On the my fault tip, if I'd looked in the mirror before I'd left for work I'd have realised this outfit makes my rack look larger than it is. Maybe. Some things just look different at the office. And I look weird with the jacket zipped up.

To cheer myself up, I'm having a Cardio Cooler smoothie from Robeks for lunch. It's like sunshine in a cup. Better fucking work.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am not grumpy, but my cold keeps kicking my ass, and for some reason I think lots of people are mad at me.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

YOU DO NOT LIME.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Here's what I did for today's geek lunch. [link] I'm glad I didn't try to listen and work. That required some serious concentration.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I am *so* grumpy today

I'm in the grumpy corner with you. My students have just been driving me nuts the last week. They are talky and rude and not paying a whit of attention. They are totally ready for school to be over. Which I get. But we still have to get stuff done.

Including the 3 one acts I'm directing that they will be performing on 5/25. One of the groups has been like pulling teeth to get them to do anything. I may just have to suck it up and own the reality of one of the groups not being very good. They just aren't ready to step outside their own self consciousness and have fun and play and be silly. They're too embarrassed.
