"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I would say ankle length if slacks would cover as well.

I wore things to my ankles and long sleeves in Ethiopia, also a shawl to cover my head. I remember places in Germany in the 80s and some places in Italy in the early 00s that would not allow tank tops and shorts. I carried a cardigan in Italy.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Jesse, when I was in Greece I wore skirts that fell about three inches below my knees for church visits. I had no problems going into churches. I wasn't around any mosques, though, so I don't know if requirements there are different.

There were also women going into churches in shorts, but I was in pretty tourist-heavy areas. The people running the churches may have been resigned to it.

I'm not sure if I really have skirts that long that I'd want to sightsee in, anyway. I think my casual skirts tend to be right at the bottom of my knees.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Wow, David Cameron is doing everything he can to lose an election that should have been a shoo-in: [link]

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I know I've posted here before about my nephews and brother being booted out of the Vatican tour because they were wearing shorts, even though it was during that exceedingly hot summer of 2003.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

You can get any number of travel-friendly skirts in a longer length, Jesse.
