Anyone else picture a chart for the "negative motivation" thing? I think watching a bunch of Numbers all in a row has a strange effect on me. Because I'm sure Charlie could and would track that.

Same authors, Jesse, but Harvey and Mildred are muskrats, brother and sister, and Harvey has a hideout he rows to across the pond. Battling boy and girl clubhouses! It's lovely.

I see a line chart where the high motivation part is shiny 3-D graphics, going down to crayon at the low motivation part, and disappearing entirely once it crosses into negative motivation.

Last weekend I bought new shoes. Today is the first day I have worn them to work. Comfy but a bit taller than my usual heels. But I love my blue toe nails poking out of the peep hole.

I also had the Preschooler of Doom this weekend. My god, the energy in that boy. I got him to sleep and went to bed cursing his name (how many times can a 3 year old say "I'm hungry" at bedtime? Several hundred.) Then at 3am he appeared in the living room, with his flashlight, crying, having wet the bed, gotten up ("and turned on the light because I was little bit scared") and peed on the floor some more, and after calling and calling and getting no response (we had a loud fan on), set off with his flashlight in search of parental help. I was totally slain with the cute.

There are a lot of days I live off the land at work.

JZ does this as there are a fair number of meetings where they order food and often have leftovers.

When I worked in law firms there was a whole network of office vultures who were alerted when extra food was left over after a meeting and people would come swooping in to nab sandwiches. They always ordered too much food, though I'd say it was an even split between clueless people who felt food was necessary when it wasn't, and thoughtful managers who didn't mind sharing the wealth by over ordering a bit.

Well, who doesn't sometimes like to hear people say Ouch? I admire her id.
