OM NOM NOM NOM CHILI. It turned out great! So tasty! It was like real chili, and I made it!
Right on! Chalk up one new life skill! Good for impressing people AND keeping yourself well fed!
On the downside, I ruined my neighbor's pot by turning up the heat at the end, which led to burnt chili residue on the bottom we couldn't get off with our best efforts. Next time, just let it cook longer and slower. Patience!
For burnt chili residue, I just soak the pan, usually overnight. Then it's a lot easier to get off.
P-C are you sure the pot was ruined? Sometimes I put water and dishwashing detergent in it and then heat up the water (don't leave it alone) and then take it off and let it soak overnight. Congrats on the good chili!
megan, YAY!
Yeah, they're going to try to soak it overnight. I hope that works. We tried boiling it away, but that didn't do it.
Right on! Chalk up one new life skill! Good for impressing people AND keeping yourself well fed!
And healthily!
Next recipe? Beer bread! Sooooper easy, and impresses everyone.

Oooh...I want java's meyer lemons!! I'm going to be in um, San Jose this week! That's...sorta nearby!!!
And I'm gonna be in San Jose again next week! And I'm gonna be in LA in between, seeing her! Gosh darnit!

I think I like the second one better for you, shrift.
Man, I'm tempted to spoil myself about the end of the Federer match. I'm only a set and a half through watching it. I'm not sure why I decided I wanted to watch Heroes instead. Tonight's episode sucked.
I think I like the second one better for you, shrift.
Yes, that's the one I'm currently looking at with intent.
