Oh, Nicole - I've been looking forward to the HR market starting up again and I hadn't checked on the date. Next Sunday would be cool.
I'm headed into Denver tomorrow for a bead show...any chance you would be interested?
I have been failing on the veggie front and I like veggies. Need to get a better habit going.
I am not a veggie lover at all, AND I think that our culture is predisposed to think of fruit as worse for you than veg. That said, when I have veggies, they tend to be raw... I have no problem with carrots, beans, asparagus, mushrooms, spinach. I am not a person who has ever enjoyed beets or sprouts (brussel or otherwise).
I will eat fruit in all varieties except watermelon.
I've been eating mainly salad or protein for the past three weeks. We had a hectic day (A Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine, then lunch with Alibelle and signing our will, then aborted nap time at home and then taking Grace back) and with it came attendant crappy eating including kennel corn (a bag shared between 4 of us!) and a subpar Panera salad with soup. Since it had already been a day of bad food I thought we'd cap it with dinner as a splurge. But the only thing I wanted was a Ceasar salad from California Chicken. But alas, nope.
Ah well. Today will be a weight gain day.
Yesterday I was in a foul mood, and I can't imagine trying to medicate that with anything far off from a steak.
ita, did you see that the groupon for LA this weekend is a 50% off at Porterhouse Bistro. I'm flirting with getting one.
Thanks for the invite but I have a crap ton of chores to get done tomorrow. We head to Santa Fe mid-week and I've been procrastinating on way too many things that have to get done before then. (Procrastinating?? Shocking, I know.)
eta: Ooops - love when I forget to type things I'm thinking of typing. We get back early evening on Saturday and I'll give you a call or shoot you an email to see what time you want to meet Sunday.
Ooh, Kat. That looks tempting. I just don't know if I'm eating out enough to make it worthwhile. I'll have to peruse the details.
Amy, have you seen
The Losers
yet?
It is tempting, ita, but not necessarily tempting enough to seal the deal, you know what I mean? For us, the thought of a nice dinner out is great, but Beverly Hills just seems inconvenient. Even though it sounds delicious! Are you around tomorrow PM and up for nail polish drop off? If not I totally understand.
Amy, have you seen The Losers yet?
I haven't. I thought I was getting better early in the week, but instead I have a fever, no voice, and a seal bark cough again. We're going next weekend, which makes me want to cry, but it's better than nothing.
AND I think that our culture is predisposed to think of fruit as worse for you than veg.
Totes agree, I think people attach some bogus moral valence to it. As a mom, I don't really push my son to eat veggies like his sister given that he eats so much fruit.
I eat fruit all the time. I don't understand how people think it's not healthy -- it's full of good things, *and* delicious.
I saw The Losers today. I wanted to pat the movie on its little head, it tried so hard. I think it's worth it if you're a JDM fan, which I am. Felt like a summer movie to me, and I'm tempted to check out the comic book to see if certain shots, as I suspect, came straight from the source material.
