Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Sorry, Jilli. I meant to warn you.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I love the first one, with the dark clouds of ash and bright red lightning. The apocalypse can be pretty!

From Andrew Sullivan's blog: Face Of The Day

Portland photographer Carli Davidson has more disturbingly cute shots of "Grandpaw" the Sphynx.

I disagree - Grandpaw is nondisturbingly cute!

And come on - this picture is awesome: [link]

eta: This one is even more awesome: [link]

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Sorry, Jilli. I meant to warn you.

I must admit, THAT is the cover that should have been on that horrible Dracula "sequel" that was released last year. Then people could, for once, make an accurate judgment about the book by its cover.

Punishingly Intricate

Friends of Bob's were supposed to be flying to France yesterday for a vacation and have had to cancel. They are still taking a vacation (so as not to squander family being able to take care of their 4-year old twins for the week) so instead they are coming to the Paris of the Midatlantic--Baltimore today (then on to NJ...the um...Provence of the Midatlantic?, and to NYC). We are at least able to take them to a very, very good restaurant tonight.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Not fun--glad you could be there for them! The DH was supposed to be leaving tomorrow morning for a trip to the Porsche factory in Leipzig to take a tour and drive on their track. Canceled. He is bummed, but I was a little nervous about him flying through crazy ash clouds, so I am secretly relieved.

Yeah, and the wife of the couple who is Bob's old, dear friend had wanted to come see him since he's been sick so that's a plus.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Well, he's not actually kicking puppies.
