Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I was wrong about Ruby Ridge. That happened in August. I'm not sure why I thought that was April 19, too. But Waco and Oklahoma City were both April 19, and Columbine was April 20.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Jeez. I didn't realize all that happened on the same date. (Or that today was that date.)

It's my sister's birthday, so we're all well aware. I generally spend this day crossing my fingers that nothing else happens to give her even more of a complex.

I think tomorrow is Hitler's birthday, which may or may not be related to Columbine.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I guess it's too much to hope the crazies stay in bed today.

Yes, it is too much to hope for. They're staging a protest, and bringing their guns.

No, really.

eta: Correction: Protests. Plural.

Yeah, there's a protest on the Virginia side of the Potomac today, with everyone bringing their guns to show that they have guns, or something. There's also a protest on the DC side of the river, but because DC has different open carry laws, that one is without visible guns.

Punishingly Intricate

And my Mom's b'day. Also the day my grandfather, her dad, died.

We were together in SF for her b'day when Oklahoma City happened. She was like "REALLY??!! Why today?!"

She seems to be okay now with celebrating her b'day despite it sharing all the sad anniversaries, though.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Yes, it is too much to hope for. They're staging a protest, and bringing their guns.

What the hell is wrong with these nutjobs? Okay, you hate the gov'mint, whatever, but why on earth would you want to IDENTIFY yourselves with Waco and Oklahoma City? That's beyond crazy. I don't even know what that is.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I want to bring a banana to an armed protest. Possibly dressed as Dr. Who. Ok, actually I want to stay as far away as possible from an armed protest, but IN THEORY.

Trying to get a lot done today - update with boss in 45 and have some ducks to get in a row.

yes, and it's right near the airport, so TSA is going to have a field day!

Bill Clinton wrote an op-ed in the Times today that pretty much amounts to, "People, please, calm down. Please." [link]

Winscape: Convincing Fake Windows for Cubicle-Dwellers

Cool - it tracks the person looking at the "windows" and changes the "view" as they move about, creating the illusion they're real windows.
