"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I actively encourage everyone to steal those jars from your mothers and send them to me! MWAHAHAHA!

I have two actually: Schilling, Sage and Bay Leaves (Turkish)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh, and we were talking of cats following us around. I have discovered, spending the weekend with my cat, that she has two spots-- with me, or in her chair.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hey, did y'all know there's a blog dedicated to the art of Enoch Bolles!

Cool beans. (You may not know his name but you know his work as it's been nabbed and repurposed and made into a jillion LJ icons and whatnot.) '30s magazine illustrator, most famously for Film Fun.

This Motorcycle Girl is one of his most famous images.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Graeter's! That's way exciting.

I had a super busy day. Up early for coffee and then a trip to OSH (tax free weekend) where we bought some potting soil and some plants to try a little garden. Also bought 2 5-gallon rosemary plants and I think I may go get more and put them in between the back yard and the clothes line.

Then went to the farmer's market where I bought strawberries and lettuce. Went to yoga which was GREAT. On the way home went to the grocery store to buy pectin for strawberry jam (I'm gonna try it in the crock pot... any suggestions?) and some more jar lids.

At home, I started making a stroller liner (did a ton of laundry, including the down comforter, sheets and we disassembled the stroller to wash the upholstery). Got part way through then Noah woke up so we went outside to plant the plants we got that AM.

Three year olds? NSM when it comes to helping. But I planted strawberries, heirloom tomatoes, heirloom peppers, spinach, basil. Some of it I did in the Topsy Turvy upside down planters and some I did in the ground with a prayer that the dog won't tear it up.

Finished the liners and reassembled the stroller. UGH. What a drag. But the liners are cute and sushi! Finished product: [link] I made the black one second and I like it better shorter. Did I mention they are reversible?

So now is the first non yoga time I've sat down. And I am SICK of hockey. Really really sick of it.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. Sorry about that, Kat. Fortunately for us this is an all-hockey household, including the roommate/intern. Otherwise I could see someone not loving the four hours of radio commentary this morning, followed by three successive games.

The good news is that the games will be fewer. The bad news is the watching thereof will be inversely more intense. (Go Hawks!)

I will say, everytime Noah sees a game, regardless of whom is playing chants, "GO, Kings, GO!"

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Do people here ever have to complain because someone in your building is talking loud at night when you're trying to sleep?

God, the acoustics in this building suck.

eta: I've never been able to sleep if I can hear any music or voices at all. Am I just too sensitive?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I recommend trying earplugs, tommyrot. I am not a fan of sleeping with earplugs in, but they do keep down the noise.

Kat, those stroller liners are super cute.

Yeah, I've been using them quite a lot since the people moved in above me at the beginning of the month. Haven't used earplugs this much since I was in the dorms in college.
