Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have the least horrible electric stove I've ever had (flat ceramic cooking surface), but I still miss gas. I don't think I saw one apartment with gas here in LA in any of my searches. Colin has a great vintage six-burner gas stove I envy so much, but it's not like I'm a house-owner or anything.

I am wearing my Batman cuff today. This and my short skirt and boots (same ones as yesterday, or branch out? Decisions, decisions...) will have to motivate me beyond my migraine to actually get stuff done away from the apartment. Can't wimp out on the haircut. Committed there. It's all about how much I get done on the way home from that now.

eta:

Maybe finding a man covered in glitter automatically takes the wife/girlfriend to a Dances with Strippers headspace?

Glitter and bruises, no less. But still. Some wives/GFs needed to calm down.

There was the one to whom I emailed a bruise--it was her boyfriend's palm print on my inner thigh. That shit was funny. But they both knew the pic was coming. I'm not entirely evil.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

mac has a birthday party to get to in hour and a half. He has been up since at least 7 and done nothing but watch shows. I just got up and am trying to get him moving to make the party and he is throwing up a royal stink. To the point of suggesting that if he skips te party he should be able to keep the gift. SRSLY?!? kid.

I think I'll just go about my morning and let him work his way out of this funky mood on his own.

Because books.

Kid logic is so creative.

brenda, what about dinner for the MBA and something sort of commemorative for the wedding? A handmade quilt? Wineglasses? Something they would both keep and actually use.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That only works when you're a grownup.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah. I'm thinking along those lines. Maybe I can research whatever's traditional in Russia.

Speaking of people who may never get around to getting married, my mother and grandmother are all worked up about my cousin's engagement. @@ does not fully express the extent to which I am rolling my eyes about this. I'm sure (and told them) the issue is event planning, not the relationship -- he's out of the country most of the time, and she's a lawyer working crazy hours. I mean, seriously. Not that I have any real evidence for this, but still. My aunts were together for 20 years before they got married! OK, that was a slightly different situation...

Because books.

I once saw a really pretty collection of Christmas ornaments, each of which stood for some kind of blessing on the marriage or whatever. Like, bread for bounty or something (but not that, you know?). I'm not having much luck finding it, but I liked the idea of something the couple would use every year.

Trust my rage

Ellie also has a party today. Frisco has been a total crying mess all morning. I think he didn't get enough sleep due to the wine spill. Either way I feel like a bad mom because I'm already sick of him.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, mac. Hahahahahahahaha! Nice try. He really reminds me of Olivia. She has that kind of devious logic.

Holy CRAP. The conversation just reminded me to look at a party invite of Sara's, which I thought was for next week. Um, it's today. At three.
