Kat, I didn't get to go to my 20th H.S. reunion because I was out of the country for work. I really, really, regret it. I hope you'll go if you want to. There is only one 20th.

Kat, Liv went through this awful phase where she would yell "PRIVACY" in public restrooms and want to go into the stall herself. She would then lock the door and be unable to open it. Don't ask how many bathroom stalls I had to crawl under to rescue her before we got over this issue.

That's a whole parenting column right there.
I skipped my reunions. At the tenth, I got roofied, so I wasn't really feeling nostalgic.
But I'll admit, the allure of a new! bathroom! lasts a bit. Sara still likes to go in new stores just ... because.
We called my sister Christina Columbus at restaurants. For a really long time, actually. At least until she was a tween.

Holy shit, sweetie. I'm so sorry.
God, Cass, that's awful. My tenth was just boring. And given the way people from my class post on FB, I assume the twentieth would be worse.
Yeah, Sara's at that stage where she wants a stall of her own when we go in. Which is fine, mostly, although I insist on standing outside her stall while she goes if we're somewhere like a rest stop.
Nothing terrible (beyond, you know, someone slipping drugs into my drink) happened. I was with two good friends who realized something was wrong right away. We had a room and they got me showered, kept me kinda awake and kept a very careful watch over me. And I don't remember a damn bit. I am *amazingly* lucky that I was with them.
But knowing any number of things *could* have happened and knowing that I was around people that I would have trusted? Yeah, not really ever going back.
And now there is Facebook. Serves the same purpose. None of the skeevy.
Oh, hell, my 30th HS reunion is next year. Unbelievable.
I was on the commitee for my 20th last summer (still bitter that there was no reduction in ticket price for the committee). It was fine, nothing exciting or new. having made many people's acquaintance on FB prior to the reunion, it was almost superfluous.
I read an article about whether Facebook would kill the HS reunion. I mean, the reason that you go is to see what happened to people. With FB, you know down to the last detail.
