Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have never flown with a laptop before - does it need to be on and in the bin or just in the bin?

Also, if I am checking luggage with my toiletries in it, do those need to be in a quart bag or no?

It's been about 4 years since I've flown (!!!!) What other wonkiness can I expect?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You have to pay $20 more for an "inside the airplane" seat.

I like the wind in my hair. I'll take the wing.

And I'd better get to work on my spin classes.

I'm trying to figure out how to bring my camera bag, my laptop, and an overnight bag without having to check anything.

overnight bag large enough to hold the camera bag going through security (if a bit squished), laptop in slim cushion sleeve that ideally would also fit in overnight bag. and laptop can just be slid out right at security and back in when recovering bags.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No, you can check as much as you like.

Check the TSA web site for details. Expect to pay extra to check your bag, though. Tossers.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I got a three- or four-inch syringe needle onto a plane a few months after 9/11.

mac and I fly in Feb for a week's vacation and the airline charges for all checked luggage, so we are both carrying backpacks only. I am already dreading the minimalistic packing.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In re those clueless about security - every time I have jury duty there seems to be someone (usually a lawyer) who hits the metal detector and has to empty his pockets of change, multiple sets of keys, and other assorted metal items.
