I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

As my friend Doug said, "it's an ALLCAPS kinda day!!"

OK, could I possibly get some help in crafting the response? Basically, the set up is, they can't pay the salary requirements, so they offered lower than what he'd told them. All in all, still pretty good though. So their letter was like, ok, well, we can't pay you that, but we could pay you this which you are welcome to take, and we hope you do because we think you'd be a good fit.

So, Tom is like unable to form coherant sentences right now so I am trying to draft a response, and was hoping for some awesome patented Buffista feedback.

Thanks so much for your quick response and the news that your company is interested in my coming on board. Even with the reduced salary offer, I will certainly seriously consider this offer and get back to you as soon as I make a decision.

While working out this decision, I'd love to know what your health/dental insurance and PTO benefits are. Also, could you provide me with B and W's contact information so I could correspond with them about the terms? I assume that any discussion of the possibility of relocation expenses would be with them, or is that not part of the offer at all? Would I discuss the benefits questions I asked above with them or is that under your purview as Operations Manager?

Thank you again, and I look forward to talking with you and your colleagues soon.

The think about "the terms" above comes from her email which said this: "Please look it over and respond with your intentions or if you’d like to speak with W and B about the terms." There was an allusion to potential relocation expenses paid in the original job posting and we're trying to work out who to talk to about what.

HALP!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Thanks JZ! I'm getting the same prices through Caltech. I'm just concerned because I'm trying to get my debt to zero as quickly as possible, and I have a ways to go.

Because books.

Nora, how about this, just to streamline:

Thanks so much for your quick response. I'm thrilled you'd like to bring me on board.

I'm seriously considering the offer at the salary you stated, but I'm also interested in the health/dental insurance and PTO benefits. I would also like to explore the relocation terms; are B and W the people to ask about that?

Thank you again. I look forward to discussing this with you and your colleagues very soon.

I might add something about benefits making up for the salary issue, like.

I'm hoping that it would be possible to discuss some changes in the benefits in lieu of salary.

And be prepared to make some suggestions, like additional vacation days or 401 k contributions.
