Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Man, National Library Week my ass. I walk into the Piedmont branch and discover that the building has been sold to new owners. Who raised the rent from $1.00 a month to $4,250.

That is not a typo.

What kind of asshole drives out a library? I hope they can find a place to relocate or build a new branch or something.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Fuckers.

Is this a special day for someone? Why are there fireworks going off across the street?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Maybe your library didn't get the shaft and is celebrating.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Javachick. If I have your permission I'm filing the following line to steal if I have write a character worth of saying this:

Yes, as I told a drunk Cleveland Indian who was hitting on me at the Hilton in Anaheim a few years back: "I don't do married, I don't do American League and I sure as hell don't do designated hitters."

Okay, this is really loud now. Hopefullt that's the grand finale. The cats are scared. It's the Elks lodge again, the same nutbars who were setting off a cannon (yes, a polarbearing cannon) all day one day last summer. This is a residential area! There weren't any real cannonballs, but damn, it was scary loud.

Lilly Tickybox, FIVE, whoa.

One of my neighbors I only know from the big dig and K (wine and fm) were out talking when I was on the way home from the pool. Stopped to talk to them. He's got a young teen son and in talking to him? He reminds me a lot of Taylor's dad in the way he talks about advocating for his son. Even funnier, he'd stopped to ask K to tutor the boy in chemistry, so yeah. Anyway, I've not met his wife, must remedy that. They sound like an awesome team, and he's so clearly smitten with her.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Not in my experience, but sure.

If your stuffiness is caused by inflammation from an allergic response, Benadryl will probably relieve it. But it is sleepy-making. Currently, my breathing is being assisted by liquid Zyrtec.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

No, it's an antihistamine. I suspect you want a decongestant, Amy.
