hip deep in pie

If I wanted a detailed listing of what was wrong with me, I'd spend more time with my family.

Always Anti-fascist!

Why would I want to subject myself to that when I have a. family and 2. critical voices in my head already. Besides, most "constructive" crit I get from strangers generally involves my comfort level with profanity anyway. As you can see from current tag, I'm really bothered by that.

Good luck Fay!

I'm glad I'm not Mr. flea.

We had our first weekend of soccer games. Because of make-up games, we had four of them this weekend. Somehow the kids' teams won all four. With two wins Emaryn's team has already surpassed last season's and they really played with a lot of grit. Leif's team played really well like normal and thumped the other two teams even though they didn't have their best player for either game.

They have switched to more playing positions in Emaryn's team instead of rotating around. She's playing defender which she likes even though she's much better at offense. I'm glad she's playing what she enjoys, but I miss watching her score goals. Oh well, it doesn't matter if she's having fun.

The league also changed the setup now so that the parents of the different teams are no longer on the same side of the field. Apparently there were some fist fights last year. Crazy.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

'Tis Monday, and therefore I gronk.

This.

Oh flea, so sorry, that is super frustrating. Please to get yourself a pastry of your choosing.

And this. And a pastry for Sparky, too (which I first typed "pasty," so I guess your choice--swing those tassels, women!).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This is completely random (and super nerdy), but I have to share anyway. It's a spoiler for an upcoming NYTimes crossword puzzle, and I'm not sure if anyone here cares about that, but I'll whitefont it anyway.

A bunch of the clues/answers were based on Boston-accent puns, and one of the clues was something like "Heavenly food for the Duke." So, the Duke is John Wayne, right? And food from heaven is manna. The answer was Wayne Manna.

Hee.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Jesse, that's wicked fabulous.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

And totally nerdy!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I laughed. I have to say, I like the crossword community because it is (obviously) pretty nerdy, but mainstream enough that the people aren't terrifying, as a rule.... Um, kind of like this here.

Oh, so timely: Massholes! [link] Will Jesse be auditioning?

I am not a pasty kind of woman. And the car needs an engine, so I think we are definitely getting a new car. Some piece of the seat of the cylinder head for the valve BROKE OFF and FELL IN THE ENGINE.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's ROUGH. Also, they are going to need some translators if they want to talk to Massholes about "hoagies." We don't have that here. Also, I think maybe they meant Southie, not the South End.
