Allyson, that's why I have avoided visiting the shelter where I got Amarna since I've adopted her. Just going to the vet and looking at the few cats they have for adoption there while she's having her claws trimmed is difficult enough, and all I do there is coo over the cats in their cages. (One was a clone of Amarna, down to the meowing and attention-getting tricks, which would have been difficult to distinguish them apart if I had gotten her, but it did demonstrate my weakness for talkative black cats!)

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I so wanted to keep the little tabby I found and took to the SPCA a few weeks ago. He was a sweetie. But two cats is enough for me in this little house, and while Leo and Percy get along well, I don't think either would be happy with sharing their space with another.
Must not become Crazy Cat Lady.
So I sat on the floor and played with a newly weaned litter of kittens. The bravest I named Galileo.
But because I love Ruby and Mona, I did not take him home.
I am more than halfway serious when I say send me an email with the name of the shelter so I can go visit him. Meep. I really would love to bring home a new kitten, I'm just worried about how my kitty would deal.
OK, everyone needs to go out and see the Hubble IMAX in 3D. It is seriously awesome, and I'm not just saying that because my friend Lisa (not to mention countless coworkers) worked on the visual effects for the starfields! Launch is spectacular, seeing the telescope like that, the video footage from the helmet cams, FINALLY getting to see Mass snap off railing (god, that was a nailbiter LISTENING to it, seeing it, the whole theater of Institute employees and friends gasped,) flying through the deep fields and the nebulas, all 99.5% scientifically accurate (they had to extrapolate some to go "under" an opaque gas cloud)....gah.
Taylor came with and pronounced it awesome and couldn't stop talking about the final sequence the whole way home ("looked like synapses!" Yes, yes it did.)
We had our personal astronaut and the head of the visualization team introduce it.
Yes, I got chills. Yes, I might have teared up a bit. Yes, a shudder of relief still when the boosters separated. It's just gorgeous.
I just got a very exciting email, but the fact that I've procrastinated in making a webpage for myself is now biting me in the ass. I wonder how quickly I could get a portfolio put together without having to sell a kidney.
I have the apartment to myself! Kelly and CJ just left to go see a friend's volleyball game. Yes, it starts at 9pm - wtf?
I don't dare go into a shelter. That is how we ended up with Miss Kitty in the first place. CJ keeps campaigning for a puppy (NOT happening).
No one has asked about weekend plans? How is it a Friday without that? Oh, right, Perkins abandoned the rest of us to go play in Seattle.
The kids and I are going to try a Dim Sum place that has been recommended. Then CJ goes to karate and Kelly and I go to a bridal show. Crazy! Oh, she rocked her shift at the store and got kudos from the manager. Woot. Sunday I take her to the airport and then come home to try to clean up the joint.

That reminds me of this Wondermark strip.
aurelia, do you have photos in digital form? What kind of material do you want to put up?
I am by no stretch an expert, but I did take a class and put up a portfolio site for my graphic design stuff.
The hosting site I use is Bravenet and they have templates and stuff to use to build a site.
Farmers' market, cleaning, saturday night wine and snacks with the neighbor ladies, swim, walk, shopping. I really need to get a dress for the wedding.
I love that astronaut Megan wears a shuttle necklace in space, and so when she's onscreen, there's this silver shuttle floating around her neck. Um, I want a tiny hubble charm. I have several small pins, but I'd so totally wear a teeny 3d one. Yes, I am a dork.

I totes agree.
