Looking at ModCloth makes me wish I had a girlfriend who wears their dresses.
ION, Baby's first cubicle: $2,600 workstation for tykes
This monstrosity of garish plastic is the Young Explorer workstation by Little Tikes, and it costs more than your home computer. Why? Well, uh... Hey, look over there!
Now that you're good and distracted, we can get back to the Young Explorer. It's got a 160GB hard drive your child won't be able to figure out how to fill, a roomy 19-inch screen and even an Internet connection. See that big bulge in the back? That's where the computer goes, and the workstation even has blinder-like side-wings to improve productivity — just like a tiny cubicle!
Ooh, that's a great suit.
If I had the right shape, I would buy this one in a heartbeat. But I don't, sadly.
Yeah, I just don't feel comfortable in the two-piece look anymore, except for a tankini. I don't think the world is missing out much.
Of course, most of the dresses on that site that I like are out of stock.
Okay, now I must clean. Clean clean clean!
Tankini with a skirt bottom for me. The world thanks me for it, I'm sure.
Their stuff goes out of stock ridiculously fast. I love a lot of their jewelry, too.
Mr. Justice Stevens announces his retirement
Oh man, that appointment battle is going to be ugh-ly. Probably not as ugly if it was one of the conservative judges retiring, but still. With all the craxy coming from the far right these days (and the moderates doing little to reign it in) it's going to be painful.
Kelly is trying to transfer from her store near school to one out here for the summer. She has met the manager (also named Kelly) and the manager asked her to work a shift out here. This store had a much higher sales volume than the store where she currently works, so they want to make sure she can handle things well. There are two other White House/Black Market stores nearby, so if the one in the mall is "too busy" for her, there are other options.
In short - my kid is working today and we are playing the one car hokey-pokey. At least over the summer she will have her own car. I'm in the office until noon, when she picks me up, I drop her off at her work, I work the rest of the afternoon at home, her dad picks her up when she is done with her shift, takes her out to dinner, and then brings her home. Meanwhile, I will be taking CJ to regular karate class, feeding him something (likely Panera), then he has demo team practice.
Yikes - that was supposed to be the short version. I suck at short versions.
eta - as much as I would love to charge my kids for taxi and dining services, feeing him is different from feeding him.
Oh man, that appointment battle is going to be ugh-ly.
Go, Goodwin!
[link] I might as well dream a little dream, since I really liked him when I worked with him.
Good luck to Kelly, although I doubt she needs it!
Oh man, that appointment battle is going to be ugh-ly.
Right before an election too, here comes the grandstanding.
I was listening to a podcast with a liberal guy (Robert somebody) and Tony Blankley and found myself agreeing with Tony a number of times. I disagreed a fair amount as well, but it still feels weird.
Poor Stevens, he's been waiting years to retire, hasn't he?
Gud, was it Robert Sheer by any chance? I find him rather uninsightful.
