Actually, I was thinking it would be sort of like a pet. You know, we could...we could name her Trixie, or Miss Kitty Fantastico, or something.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

P-C, I kinda love them. But, pricey.

The Girl Who Played with Fire is basically "the girl who dreamed of gasoline and a match." Which makes me wonder what the Swedish actually is, because I think the English titles of the final two are so great at conveying multiple meanings.

Totally agree. I love this as the title rather than the originals.

Also, it cracked me up when she got her fancy apartment and furnished it all with Ikea. But I'm easily amused.

I was headed to yoga but realized I forgot my library book on my desk (which I'm almost done with) so instead of going to yoga, I went back to work to get the book. I have priorities.... yoga can happen whenever, but I only have my book for three weeks and I MUST FINISH so I can read the other ones. But I'll also, this book is compelling and I've only had it for 3 days and last night I was up WAY TOO LATE reading.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

OOh, that looks very nifty, Kat. Thank you!

I need to figure out a snacky/cake-y thing that is low in fat, but isn't cardboard. Aims' pumpkin muffin recipe looked good, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I seem to have acquired (or at least ordered) a leather wristcuff with a batsymbol. I'm not sure precisely what that was about. And I tried to admit to a co-worker I was in various fannish closets and he pointed out that I might not be as far in as I thought. Slight case of Hellboy lunchbox.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm not sure precisely what that was about.

I'm fairly sure a leather wristcuff with a batsymbol doesn't need to be about anything. Nom.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

My rental car is a Hyundai accent. There is a orange warning light on the left side of the dashboard that is a semi circle with an exclamation mark in it. Anyone know what it means? enterprise doesn't,and I don't feel like going all the way back there if it is not seroius.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It means your driving experience may be dangerously exciting.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I love driving the Mini Cooper. That is definitely the kind of car I'm going to get if next year takes me somewhere where I need a car.

Still hideously hot outside, still no air conditioning in my apartment. I've got the windows open and a fan on, but it's still way too hot.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That is it Dana! Thanks.

Now I have to figure out if I care.

Given that there is frozen stuff falling from the sky., maybe I should.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

$400 later, the car is fine now. (Apparently the air flow meter needed to be replaced.)

I need to pack tonight for the con in Toronto. We're driving.
