Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

On an un-cultural tip, it looks like my ketamine infusion might actually happen, after about two years of back and forth about it. I'm looking forward to that, even if it does mean two days off work sitting on my ass, probably with no internet other than my phone and no TV.

Actually, it sounds miserable, down the K-hole. But maybe it will work.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Crossing my fingers, ita.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Good luck, ita.

Punishingly Intricate

Wasn't the Swedish title of the first "The Man Who Hated Women?" It was the Dutch title anyway. A friend of mine (Flemish) ended up reading it in a cafe in Provincetown filled, for some reason, with German lesbians. He was afraid he was going to get his ass kicked!

Because books.

No TV in the hospital, ita? I hope it works, though, and it's easier to get through than you think.

Yes, exactly!

Now tagless for your comfort.

I hope it works for you, ita, and isn't too terrible.

I got the awkwardest of the awkward Facebook messages today. My first real "boyfriend" was an asshole--lied, cheated, was an alcoholic and a drug dealer. He had apparently gotten his life together, married a nice girl and they had a couple of daughters. A couple of weeks ago, he got drunk, slapped, choked and pushed her in front of the kids (ages 8 and 4). He was arrested on domestic violence charges (and with his record of assult arrests, he's looking at jail time). His wife sent me a message asking my advice on what to do. Keep in mind, I don't have any contact with him and haven't this past 20 years. I told her, in short, take care of yourself and your kids and if you think it won't happen again, you're wrong. I hope she's smart enough to get out and stay out.

Thanks, guys.

No TV in the hospital, ita?

Oh! It's the new hospital! I forgot. They're all fancy with their flatscreen and shit. I may even get HBO. I just have this no TiVo==no TV knee jerk.

At least it's not over a Thursday!

it's easier to get through than you think

This. And it working.

If it were the boutique hospital I'd even have a computer provided, but this place isn't all that. And I'm not sure it's safe to bring anything as valuable as my laptop.

Tentatively scheduled for the beginning of May. Fingers crossed for insurance and all that working out.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Fingers crossed, indeed.

And, we have snow. Feh.

Wait, what!? I don't have snow. Maybe it's just at your altitude.
