The Myth of the Fingerpost
Oohh, sounds interesting!
I am reading "One Drop" right now. It's pretty good. It's one of those books that could be really annoying, but the writer realizes that and makes sure not to pretend to be something she isn't.
Does anybody else suffer from "Suddenly It's 10:30" Syndrome?
Mine's more "Suddenly It's 4:00." Working on that right now, actually.
All you lemon-tree having, gardening, CSA-belonging peoples who may have extra goodies to share... I just heard about this site. No idea how well it works. [link]
Is rugby alumni weekend a cultural event? That starts, well, tonight. There's sports! And food! And music - okay, drunken dirty singing. And hey, I originally got into when a cute-ish boy with a sexy Brit accent said, "Oh, you've *got* to try it, it's a whole different cul-tchah." So culture it is!
Otherwise Treme, some concerts coming up (mostly local bands), and something called Chestfest which is a fundraiser for a local trans man's top surgery.
I wanna a new job, too! Preferably in a certain Deep South location.
An Instance of the Fingerpost is good! I've said this here before, but it got me through an Italian train strike. A fingerpost is the type of sign that points in the direction of various towns, and sometimes looks like a hand. Another Pears book is Myth of Scipio, which might be why msbelle mixed it up.
eta: or the vastly better known Myth of Fingerprints...
Well, my fiancé shelled out for a book not even in print in this country yet! he is the crazy one!

Maybe you can be hired to run charitable rugby events at Tom's new brewpub in New Orleans?

GENIUS. And first I'll help them renovate the space using reclaimed building materials.
I like this train of thought!

I'm awaiting the 4th Skulduggery Pleasant book from the UK, so I join your fiance in craziness.
Later, the 3rd Hunger Games book, and in October (I think) the next Leviathan book.
There's a new Teenage Fanclub album coming that I'm kind of looking forward to. Our theatre is showing some Kubrick in late night screenings, and though I am not a big fan of him in general, I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Strangelove on a big screen.
