My Oz has taken up rubbing himself (ie his boy bits) against one of my throws.

Heh. Yeah. Mister Kitty, well, he's geriatric. It should be expected. Just annoying to chase him down and wash off his feet and the floors (growing up, my Beau cat had his plumbing rerouted so he peed through an opening in his abdomen. He peed on his feet, the other cats he cuddled with, etc.)

So the heat here? Just reminded me that on my moving day, April 25? It hit 95. I broke out my shorts and spent the whole move hiking them up because they were too big. Remember shutting down the night before and frantically stashing shit in boxes. Almost a year. Wow. And Friday I take my old neighbor to see the Hubble 3D IMAX movie. Saturday, wine night with my fellow singlish women neighbors jokingly dubbed the Ednor Gardenias. Been a good year. One helluva year.

Our wings are not tired.

sarameg, I still vividly recall all of the problems with your previous neighbors and being worried for you. You're in a literal and figurative better place.

and being worried for you.

Eep! I actually was rarely worried about my safety (most was uneasy, a few times) but mostly just freaking annoyed. Actual endangerment usually was the result of being intimately involved in drugs or crime.

While I do see more police copters (ah, the joys of living more in the center city, ) yeah, this is a different hood. I trust the residents in whole.

My policy of opening up the windows and setting up the exhaust fan once outside is cooler than in, and then shutting things up in the morning around 7 is working. Basically 75 upstairs, 73 down. This house maintains temps like WHOA. Have got to see about getting the house fan working, it'll suck the cool from the basement.

Well the worry covered all sorts of things, not just crime. For instance, I worried about you worrying about your young neighbors, and their pets.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Really? [link]

I can't wait to see the latest installment of security theatre after this. DCA is my home airport. I'm traveling to/from there at least 2 times a month.

If it gets working, it is AWESOME. This is its exhaust vent: [link] which is kinda awesome.

Yeah, well. I'm glad I got to know them. I've still got to bring Ms. Louise up here but she has a back injury that has her not able to do stairs yet. She's been in and out of hospital since I moved. I don't know if I mentioned it, but Nakia's daughter ...well, she died. ( Louise's great granddaughter Nakia was one I drove to prom. Oldest mother in their family, at 18.) Baby had an encephalitic condition (and there was no prenatal care,) made it to a few months longer than expected.
