I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Game

Ever found yourself torn between playing Zelda or watching Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog? Thanks to the pixel artistry of Philadelphia’s Doctor Octoroc, you now longer have to choose! To accompany his new chiptune cover album of Dr. Horrible songs, Doc Oc has re-imagined what Joss Whedon’s popular musical series would look like as a top down adventure video game. Although the look of the visuals is inspired by the feel of classic games, Doctor Octoroc’s version is not actually playable. You can watch the first act of the Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Game here (or watch it on the Youtubehole).

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I feel a bit better. Deb thinks the book is great, and she's not a chain-yanker, so my ego is on its way to being restored.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Allyson, I think it's great, too.

I don't really understand why it didn't sell to anyone. In my head, it's a pretty good little book.

Coding and Sleeping

Maybe it's just bad timing and it's not the kind of story people are looking for right now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I've spent a ridiculous amount of time reading agents' blogs (for someone who has no interest in writing a book), and it always seems like actual quality is only the first hurdle.

Wishing you lots of luck going forward, Allyson.

Because books.

In my head, it's a pretty good little book.

It is. But in this marketplace, everyone wants to be sure they know how to sell it, and move those copies. Publishers are gun-shy right now. Or I should say even more gun-shy than usual, when it comes to outlay of money vs. possible profit.
