They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Pac-Man: The Movie Trailer

A parody. But this looks better than most movie versions of video games.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The movers are gone and now I have a very, for me, cleared out house. PLUS all the upper shelves in my closets are now empty and storage under my bed is mostly clear, so as I start to pack up more things I will have places to out them that are out of sight. IOW, YAY!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That was pretty sweet.

Pharmaceutical people: Is there a database or other source that will tell you how many/much of a particular drug is sold outside the US? We already know the drug in question is not sold in the US yet.

Okay, getting all my threads together: SFistas, would love feedback on the feasibility of the BART/Caltrain pieces of this project: [link]

And, of course, the possibility of meeting at fine cultural and/or dining establishments!

Coding and Sleeping

Shoot, we got the third quarter grades from the elementary school and I forgot to tell Leif I was proud of his performance this morning. I didn't want to say anything in front of Emaryn since she already has a bit of an inferiority complex with regards to her brother sometimes, but then Leif had to rush for the bus and I didn't have time. Have to remember tonight. He got all A's and only got dinged for his handwriting (I think skipping a grade hurts him there), his marks in the gifted program were pretty good too. Emaryn does great with schoolwork too, but she's kind of Simon to Leif's River.

Our wings are not tired.

Hey, I am trying to talk myself into going to an old friend's wedding in Santa Cruz on May 15. (My hesitancies are $$ and having to rely on friends & complex logistics for local transport, plus being a HUGE GIANT DORK.) Does anyone want to tell me how lovely it would be to visit NorCal in May?

Flea, Santa Cruz in May would likely be beautiful. I don't know what dates you're talking about, but I'd love to see you. I will likely be in Texas May 26-31.

Monstrous Aviation: World's Biggest Airplanes, Part 3

But the plans for the tentatively-named "The Saro Queen" were simply out of this world. This flying monster boat (slated for the London-Sydney run) was to have FIVE decks, enough to carry a thousand passengers in comfort, plus include bars, dining rooms and elite lounges! The mammoth aircraft was to be powered by twenty-four engines (mounted within wings). "The wings were deep enough for the engineers to be able to carry out maintenance standing up while the aircraft was in flight."

flea, do you want to do the San Jose thing? Because I've been meaning to visit Santa Cruz since I moved here (see also: Napa and Berkeley) and I would just as well rent a car and go that weekend, drop you off wherever and pick you up on Sunday when I head back to SF.

That could work, megan. The San Jose thing was just a practical thing - my friends are flying into San Jose and renting a car. (I'm a non-driver.)
