Our wings are not tired.

I wish I could help, too. The only thing I can think of is that Charlie's old Honda needs a clutch (he bought a new used car in December) and it could be more than drivable again. But I don't think he can afford to give the Honda away, and, it still needs a new clutch. So it's probably not the answer. But damn, I am sorry about the car woes.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Thank you! I'll let you buy me a chicken sandwich when it's convenient.

No problem.

Always Anti-fascist!

I was born in Riverside. Mom says it was "the weirdest place in California" at the time. Which kind of explains a lot, actually...maybe my fascination with the game is some kind of primal homecoming. When I was a baby my dad tried to stop a shoplifting tranvestite...I guess he got by with it cause nobody wanted to touch her.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Seriously, they had never heard of Rye. I offered them musical mnemonics....

Did you try the Tex Ritter song? Aaah, they probably wouldn't have recognized that, either.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Aaah, they probably wouldn't have recognized that, either.

Yeah, I know it's Bakersfield but the kids behind the bar wanted to listen to Fifty Cent and Eminem.

The music of their youth.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry about the car stuff, David.

I'm watching Life on the Discovery channel. Cuttlefish fights are very confusing.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Well the Manhattans were good even without the Rye.

Of course they were!

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Ugh, David, glad you found a good drink at least.

I may need one soon as I try to put my latest purchase from IKEA together.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Speaking of Faith had on two Jesuits from the Vatican Observatory. I love listening to religious people who are well-versed in science explain how they reconcile the two.

One of the speakers quoted Anne Lammott and pointed out that the opposite of faith is not doubt, it is certainty, which is a quote I love. If something is certain, faith is just not required.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Hec, I am so sorry about the car. I hate cars. Possibly because I have never had enough money to have a reliable one.

Before Easter dinner I did 6 straight hours of fittings with a crazy designer, where I was helping the people into outfits, hanging up outfits, taking notes, offering opinions, making suggestions and ENTERTAINING HER FUCKING JACK RUSSELL TERRIER so that it didn't jump all over the actors. Badly behaved Jack Russell terriers do not belong in costumes shops, unless they, possibly are getting a costume.
