Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Speaking of coming out (we were, weren't we, way back when), apparently Anna Paquin has come out as bi in a PSA for a GLBT equality campaign.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

liese! I still think you should come and visit us. I almost bought Stanley Cup tickets as an enticement.

Ooh! That would be an enticement. I want to come. I just have no idea when it would be.

Plus, the trip I'm spending money on is next weekend. I talked about it in another thread, but I'm going to "Becoming An Outdoorswoman" put on by the Arizona Wildlife Federation. It's like camp for women, where I can learn stuff like orienteering or shotgun or archery or birdwatching or dutch oven cooking. It's all set up so you can learn in a non-threatening environment stuff that might be a male-dominated field otherwise. There's even like a workshop where you learn stuff like using the bathroom in the woods and one where they talk about gear marketed to women, like figuring out if they just made an item pink and called it women's or if it has real features that are helpful, like backpacks fitted to a female body.

I've been meaning to go for over a year but finally saved up enough to do it. I cannot wait.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am waiting to get my hair cut and watching workmen install some kind of statue in the middle of the room.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We just spent 3 1/2 hours taking Kato the dog to the vet due to 10 days of gastrointestinal ick (a large part of the 3 1/2 hours was driving against traffic at 4:00 on a holiday weekend Friday). Poor pup has whipworms, so he got a big shot, a bunch of pills, and 3 days' worth of some sort of powder we put on his food.

I am oddly worn out after all that, but we're meeting friends in an hour, where I will rally and drink beer. Noms.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's like camp for women, where I can learn stuff like orienteering or shotgun or archery or birdwatching or dutch oven cooking. That sounds awesome.

the priest who asked us all to pray for Benedict our Pope actually did an eyeroll as he said the words.

Dude. I figure the Pope needs LOTS of prayer right now. Though possibly not in the way he and certain members of his...um...cabinet? think he does. I think he needs lots of prayer to do the right thing. To help him understand that he did the wrong thing. To help him hear God, since apparently he's ...not been doing so well with that. etc. etc. To help him in the future, cause I'm not feeling his heavenly future. And on and on. I figure the Pope and his cronies are in GREAT need of prayer. It's just not the "Excuse us from the shit people are raining down on us" prayer they want.

3&1/2 hour car ride+ dog + gastrointestinal upset sounds like a recipe for horror!

Liese, that sounds fabulous. You'll have a blast.

Loki just took out a fly mid-air with a single paw swipe. I don't know who was more surprised.

I like sitting out on MY back deck with the cats, eating dinner and just enjoying the sunset.

Doesn't it? I am seriously amped for it. I haven't heard yet which of the workshops I signed up for I'm going to get. I loved every one of my sixteen options and I'll only get to do four! So in my head I keep going, "ooh, I hope it's still water paddling! no, birding! no, fly tying!"

Dana, that was a fun quiz, but I cannot rock it like you--I had to guess on several, and got 13/16.
