Natter 65: Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
This is actually K-Bug's second birthday away, but this one seems harder on both of us.
Venus's dress is...interesting. But I haven't been following tennis much, so I don't know how far off the norm it is.
Congrats on the Prius, Stephanie.
We had a demo team demonstration at a "Momporium" today. It was a big event with booths run by mom's. Everything from direct sales folks such as Mary Kay to individuals who have some special skill/item. Our dojo is run by a mom, so we had a booth with a big open area behind it and the team did different forms. They were loud and drew a bunch of attention. We even had some kids come in and learn the first basics. It was fun.

Mine will be two hours away so I am wondering if a drive up for dinner is too "omgmomyourembarrassingme". I should probably just let it go.
Orly Wild Wisteria. I found it at CVS.
Aw, happy birthdays to Noah and Grace, and of course, K-Bug.
I never liked boy bands much, but I was addicted to Monkees reruns on television.
We finally sent to see Alice in Wonderland. General consensus was it was visually gorgeous, as to be expected, great musical score, as to be expected, Depp was fabulous, but overall,
story lacked coherence. It was like a series of somewhat disjointed vignettes that depended on the viewer having a prior familiarity with the original story.
Then we went to The Ram for dinner and I had fabulous fish and chips and a beer batter Wisconsin cheddar dip. Nom.
Thanks, brenda.
We've skipped
Alice
so far, but S. took Sara to see
How to Train Your Dragon
today and said it was fantastic.
A very happy birthday to the adorable twins Noah and Grace! I will meet them before they turn 4, dammit!
And I will see K-Bug on Tuesday when I give her a ride to the airport, so can wish her a happy birthday week in person.
It was gorgeous today, and I finally had the energy to get outside and enjoy it. Dogs are the best excuse to get out, they really are.
Tomorrow is brunch with -t and Perkins out in Suisun City!
ETA: I have got to laugh: you know when you've been friends with someone on Facebook for over a year and they just now make a comment on a picture of your dogs (and you guys know me, The Wigglebutts are *always* all over Facebook) asking "Are those your dogs? They're gorgeous"? That's a very good hint that until now you've been hidden in their feed. :) I take no offense, I just find it funny.
Amy! Tomorrow is going to be a reading day! Today was spent fighting with Scrivener some more and then family time. Just didn't want you freaking out or anything.
Scrivener? And no problem, babe. Whenever!
Scrivener is a Mac-specific drafting program that a lot of authors swear by. Word has been pissing me off monumentally, doing this Great Shrinking Document thing when I switch between having the laptop hooked up to my monitor and using it as just a laptop. The Word Doc will literally shrink to one-eighth the original size and the only way for me to expand it back to regular size is to quit Word and open it up again.
So, hence, the Great Scrivener Experiment. It has some remarkable features, but it also has its own quirks that I'm trying to decide whether I can live with or not.
Sounds interesting, Barb! I'm still a PC girl, though. Jennifer Crusie mentioned a program I would love to try, although I can't remember the name of it now, but I think it might be a Mac thing, too.
