I have an adult friend my age (mid 30s) without pierced ears, but I think only the one. And my grandmother's (b. 1913) were never pierced - I always found those screw-back earring so strange and evocative. That and the smell of old-fashioned lipstick.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My ears are not pierced.

Because books.

My mom's aren't pierced. It's a bitch to find earrings for her.

I got Sara's ears pierced, but even though I was the one taking care of them, they both got infected. Not until after the initial studs came out and we went to the cheaper novelty earrings, though. Now she's a little gunshy about doing it again, but whatever. When she wants to, I'll let her.

I had to wait until 13, "old enough to take care of them myself" was I believe the plan. My birthday is right when school starts, so I convinced my mom to let me get them done six weeks before my birthday so I could CHANGE the earrings by the time school started/my birthday (of course, I promptly went to girl scout camp and they got infected...I forget if I eventually kept them or not. I did have to get them repierced at some point. I've had up to three, in the lobe, but am down to one, these days)

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

We had to work K-Bug's piercings around her softball schedule. Can't wear jewelry on the field. Though, I think that was when she got her second set.

“Not dead yet!”

We avoided all by the most minimal infection, but I was absolutely militant about only keeping in good metal earrings once the initial studs came out. So Abby's only had either yellow or white gold earrings.

Luckily, she's also as lazy as I am about switching earrings out, so she has no real impulse to go switching them out every day as of yet.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I had to wait until 13 as well, although I believe 16 was also a common age for the first piercing for more "traditional" parents.

This house is $6,000. [link] What is really funny is that they only have one picture of the inside, and it is of a carpeted floor with some junk on it. Why even bother with the picture.

Compassionately intolerant

I had mine done when I was 23 or so. Yeeeouwwch. It hurt like a...lot.

I tried to get second holes punched twice but they never healed properly, so I had to let them close up.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I got mine pierced pretty early on, but then I didn't take care of them so they closed up and I had them redone in college.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLYSON!

I have not yet finished piercing my ears. I have one more hole to get. I just need to get my arse to a piercer.

Perkins, I do not know. Slackness on my part. I will have a look this weekend.

For your FCM I would reluctantly chuck Milo, F Sendhil and M Quinto for his puckish smile.

Huh. Looks like work now blocks www.provocateuse.com, although bestof seems to be okay for now.
