“Not dead yet!”

I have Rocky Top brownies cooling for the 6th grade sock hop tonight.

I'm going to take all of them to the school as quickly as possible.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Woohoo, looks like my doctor will not make me come in just to get my prescriptions renewed. Fingers crossed.

Given that it's a common "not until you're X age thing", I would think there should at least be notification.

Of course, her ex is an ass so I'm not surprised. He has continued to fight the custody agreement at every turn (to the point where he loses more every time because he is so unreasonable). And then he violates it anyway.

information libertarian

Just talking about losing-teeth dreams is freaking me out. Notice I was ignoring it!

Ear piercing is such an interesting thing in terms of when people think it's okay for it to be the kid's decision. I've kinda arbitrarily made it a house rule that Casper can get her ears pierced when she's 10 (figuring she'll be old enough to be responsible for caring for them then.) By 13 I'd have thought it would be the child's choice, not anything the parents would have a say in (assuming we mean regular earlobe piercing, which is pretty standard - I know a lot of infants with pierced ears because it's so standard in their culture.)

Now tagless for your comfort.

I want a fried egg.

This was my morning:

  • put one kids on the bus
  • drove the other kid to preschool
  • mailed a package
  • returned overdue library books
  • picked up repaired laptop
  • stopped to vote early

I have an hour until I pick up Liv. I'm eating a sleeve of Girl Scout Cookies.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I had mine pierced when I as 6 or so, and couldn't take care of them myself, so closed them up. I can't remember when I got them re-done, but by the time I was 13, I was on to second piercings, at least.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Have not heard more from my dad or CJ. He told CJ to call me when he got to the gate - nothing yet. And the plane was supposed to take off 10 minutes ago. I check the flight status and it doesn't say departed yet. Grrrrrrr.

flea, that was apparently my SIL's position. She told her she would consider it when she demonstrates she can take care of herself (brushing teeth without constant reminders, brushing her hair, etc.).

Now she's worried the 5-year-old will also come back with her ears pierced "because she wanted it."

Of course, my brother's reaction was "now we can justify getting her a tattoo if she wants one!"

Because books.

My SiL pierced both girls' ears when they were babies, which I do find a little weird, but it would also worry me. They were babies! What if they grabbed them, or one came out! Just seems weird.

Coding and Sleeping

I used to have these dreams where I could almost fly. Like I would take a running jump... and just sorta will myself to continue on flying just over the ground.

I get the full flying experience in mine, a lot of them seemed so real that for a few minutes after waking up I thought I could really do it. The cool thing is I have memories of being able to fly and float that I know are from dreams instead of reality, but feel like real memories.
