hip deep in pie

I closed on my house three years ago today. I am finally finishing painting the trim in my bedroom.

Congratulations!

(I'm approaching one year and I still have packed stuff in the basement, boxes in the spare bedroom and very little on the walls. I don't expect the trim will get done in 3 years.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Random question: If you were a three-headed dog, would every physical sensation you had be felt by all three heads? Like, if someone stepped on your tail, all three heads would feel it, right? (Except perhaps sensations from each head itself - if one head is eating, I wouldn't think the other heads would taste it. Or would they?)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Is it here Nora was talking about moving to NO? If so, Nora, feel free to ping my cousins.

It was here that I was musing about NO. Daisy, thanks so much for the offer, and I will definitely get in touch when/if we get moving on this prospect! Because smonster has indeed already testified about the awesomeness of K & K.

Tom actually applied for a job down there today!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

James Randi—who is 81—just came out.

I just read his statement, and it's pretty awesome. Good for him.

So Devi managed to get into the crawlspace and Loki went under the stairs and refused to come out. I had to go in after him. Devi, there was a lot of cajoling and her meeing back at me until I could get her close enough to grab her. At least with Loki, if I can't physically grab him, he'll eventually come to me if I get a toy or string.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm watching Extreme Makeover:Home Edition. They were able to get a National Guardsman home from Iraq for a few days to go to Disney World with his family while the show rebuilds their house. I mean, that's awesome for that family, but a TV show can have that kind of influence?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Don't people get a certain amount of leave or just plain old time not on duty? Having that happen in a certain time frame is probably worth it good publicity wise for the National Guard.

I'd think the part a TV show can do is get someone so expediently transported home and back that a couple of days is actually worth it.

These are just guesses.

The family has a 12-year-old daughter. She grinned and jumped up and down when her father walked into the room, but then looked like she was seriously about to faint when the Jonas Brothers walked in.

Plei, gotta thank you for the topcoat recc last week. Not only does it not craze, it actually filled in some of the crazing on the one nail that got all fucked up. I may actually last the usual 3-4 weeks with this set. We'll see how it wears, but so far, excellent.
