And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I use Frizz-Ease, but that's more of a leave-in conditioner. (I use the heavy duty color-protector version.)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I haven't used product in a while, but I think even when my hair was short enough, water rinse and conditioner was enough to get it out. Even so, my hair is fine with a little product left in.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I wash with conditioner almost everyday -- I've found a number that do not have buildup and work for my dry hair . I also have spray gel tha t i use when my hair is getting way crazy and too flyaway. maybe because it is a spray -- it seems to rinsse right out of my hair.

I'd love the name of this.

I actually only shampoo a couple times a week, but I don't generally use conditioner or product (mostly because I suck at product).

“Not dead yet!”

Heart-shaped leaves?

No. More blade-shaped leaves, like this:

I wouldn't have even have hazarded a guess except for the fact that the soil had washed away from the bulb/root and I noticed that the root system was growing out from the bulb in a suspiciously familiar manner. Which confused me, since I thought ginger was a sub-tropical plant. I couldn't even find reference to it in my Northwest Herb Lover's book.

You need the Sunset garden book!

I almost bought that one at Costco the other day! Instead, I do have the American Horticultural Society Northwest Smart Garden Regional Guide. Which seems well-organized for idjits like me.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, we're seeding the back yard (LARGE bare patches thanks to uneven grade/heavy dog frolicking/too much rain), and it is a LOT of work. However, we're finally getting to bust out the compost from the bottom of the bin, and it is gorgeous stuff. I can't believe it used to be food.

Off to the store for more seed.

The actual plant:

And the root system that had me thinking ginger.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Could it be Iris?

“Not dead yet!”

Okay, yeah, I guess it could. I know I have other irises growing around the yard in various places because they're already flowering, but nowhere is the root system exposed like that. And it makes a lot more sense than ginger.

Huh.

I suppose I need to cover the roots up though.

Hahahah! You've met me.

I shampoo maybe once a week, but I have frizzy/curly dry hair, and the only reason I tend to shampoo is to get rid of product build-up, which gets gross (yet somehow doesn't manage to retain enough that I can not use product...)
