Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I know where it is map-wise, but I think that must mean it's inside a hotel. We'll see!

big shopping bag? string around it to make a handle?

I think I can just carry it, as far as I need to go.

I'm against revealing too much medical information to coworkers, on principle, but I did kinda say I was going in for a procedure and there would be anaesthesia involved. I figured I might as well let them know it was a deal.

Good. I mean, I know the timing got screwed up, but it's not like you're malingering.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Anyone in the D.C. area got a suggestion for a place to have lunch tomorrow with a friend of mine? It needs to be accessible from a Metro stop (i.e., no more than a few blocks, ideally).

(I'm sorry I didn't have time to see D.C. area Buffistas, but I've been here since Saturday and made it out of the hotel...three times?)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

What sort of place are you looking for, Dana? What kind of food, what price range, etc.?

Day 3

Sorry about the green. My pencil broke. This is crayon so if you cannot read it sorry. So beware of messy handwriting. So today I have bad news and good news. The good news is I got a leaf blower. No more sweatpants for me! The bad news is I don't have any shorts. I wear sweatpants all year around because of leaves. Now I don't have any shorts. I can't go outside without pants. I hope no one gives me any wedgies. Uh-oh, I just remembered that there is a bully at my school! And even worse! I'm considered a nerd!

And the last entry unless I can convince him to keep adding to his book . . .

Day 4

I can't see! I can't see! Whew! I just got atomic wedgies... hey, is that a shadow? Ahhhhhhh! I can't see!

I'm pretty much wide open, Hil. Nothing super-fancy or super-expensive. A place where I could get a cocktail would be nice, but not necessary.

Trust my rage

I mean, I know the timing got screwed up, but it's not like you're malingering.

NPR has been doing these pieces this week on flex schedules. The first one I heard was about 95% about how well it works (generally) when people work from home or on their own schedules. But then it ends with the statement that "most people can't shake the feeling that their employees aren't doing anything if they can't see them." Working from home stresses me out for that reason. I know I'm doing stuff, but I'm sort of anxious to make sure that everyone else sees what I've done so they know I'm not malingering or watching TV in my sweats.

I'm loving Leif's story. Leif is allergic to leaves!
